If you use a credit card, it will not deduct from your bank account. It's good that there are different modes to suit various needs and preferences.

No system lasts forever and there's bound to be changes eventually. But they will hopefully be more careful about removing functions that significant numbers of people value.

I think this should be written up as a case study for all civil servants!
But there is the mode to deduct directly from bank if one do not have a credit card. There are pple who do not have credit card or not wish to own one. Credit card are usually set up with giro payment for some. If hacked, credit card would still ask owner to pay.

It is easier to top up Ezlink card value now too. Ezlink has app to do top up from phones. My kids just use my phone to do top up now.

Strange, concession cards and student cards are card based system too, why system can be retained for these but not for adult card? Why need to pay extra for adult card but not concession and student cards???

If you go to Joo Goon MRT at 06:00a.m. or 05:00p.m., you will find 50% of the commuters are foreign workers, don’t think most of them have credit cards issued by local banks and I believe some even don’t have an account in local banks because I can see they use cash to top up their cards. How to cater for this group of commuters if the fares only can be paid via online banking?

mayb not double count, but may show error at gantry.

use more e-wallet so may not need bring physical revoult)

I tried to get dd not to use the ewallet as much as possible coz our bnk accts are on that hp. She started using R and it is convenient enough..just when it came to payback her friend during split bill she doesn't have enough cash. I told her go home I teach her do paynow but later they went for desserts and got it offset. Dd doesn't know how how use hp paymt except Alipay/Wechat. And I find these cashless methods useful and convenient. For dd2, I will try to use ezlink to top up her student card so that she just need to carry 1 card.

your dd using iphone right? so just add the whatever bank cards and do apple pay , i think similar to Ali/wechat
no bank accts is shown at all . i find iphone system/apple pay is safe too, most phones that got compromised are andriod os coz iphone dun allow apps installation fr 3rd party site except their own apple app store
