        fable:

Sounds like you get your kids home, then go out to eat and return home again? One thing that would save time (and possibly money) is catering your dinners - you can order tingkat meals with rice and a few dishes, so you can come home, eat, then settle them for bed.

We sit down for dinner between 6.45 and 7 every night, and my son's bedtime is 7.45. He usually takes a shower before dinner, then after eating he'll chill with us for 20 - 30 min before brushing his teeth. Then its book and lullabye time. Its all about creating a routine - there will be an initial stage of adjustment, but things will settle down as long as you stay firm.
yes thats right. go home, go out eat dinner then come home.

WAH!!!! his bedtime is 745????? hw you do that? he can sleep that early? oh yes the routine. thats the routine for my DDes. if they can get to bed by 9pm is good liao. recently keep ending up by 10pm.

tingkat needs someone to be at home to collect? if so and i personally preferred that way rather letting it hang at my door for a period of time, then i can only arrange them to come after 730. i also prefer bathe then eat but since we came back so late, in order not to let them suffer from hunger, we let them eat first then bathe.
so tink 9pm is still the timing for them to sleep if i order tingkat to come at 730. do they come at specific time that we want or just within a period of hours?

The uncle who delivers my tingkat dinner hangs tiffin containers securely on my gate. He will take the clean ones, presses door bell before he goes off.

I will steam rice at about 6pm, then we get to enjoy steaming hot rice and warm dishes. This whole idea of tingkat really solves a big headache cooking and the washing/cleaning up.

ME time is about 25 min…kids will get homework done while I surf net waiting for washing machine to beep when clothes are ready.

I find it really not easy to get proper me time. I have students smsing me their homework after 11pm and parents smsing me to checking on their kids progress consistently. This week CA1, I barely have time to breathe, sit down and do my own thing. I just hope things get better next week. Fingers crossed, time to receive results.

Hi, sorry to hear that. you are also on the ball for your work. sometimes things get us down for a while. just plan for a short term reward for yourself so that you can set a target and work towards it.

I learnt that from my wife recently.

I reward myself weekly. Already booked holidays for June to refresh myself :rahrah:

Last year I was busy all year round. In the end burn out. This year DH insisted that I take 1 day off every week at least.

I do not get to choose time block…in fact, I am more than relieved my dinner is not delivered at 3pm…bcos these companies have to cook for many, so they start early and send delivery trucks out.

Delivery uncle reaches my place between 4-430pm. So we bring dinner forward…like 6-615pm. Of course kids will get hungry bcos we do not sleep early. When they are hungry, I give them milk or light supper.
