Me Time!

Mine is one leg kick; when on leave, the work just piled up …
Reports, routine tasks, projects etc, nobody cover during my absence -
Nvm, this makes ME time precious

if your your work is one man operation, it's not worth doing part time...furthermore there is a reduction in pay.Mine is one leg kick; when on leave, the work just piled up ...

Agreed with Janet. 不划算 if pay cut but no reduction in workload

If you want to go part-time, you need to make sure that someone officially takes over part of your workload. If not, it's a raw deal. Employers won't arrange that for a few days leave, but if it's a long-term arrangement, then they will have to. It's also a matter of bargaining power - do they value you enough to want to keep you, even part-time?

You also need to read your boss - is he the reasonable type and will he respect your working hours? My boss is so busy that he hardly ever looks for me, so I just get on with my projects and report to him by email when necessary. Occasionally he schedules department meetings during my off times, then I will re-schedule my work hours for that week (that was something I agreed to when I started). I guess switching to part-time from full-time will involve \"training\" your boss and colleagues as they are used to your having been full-time; I started as part-time, so I didn't have that problem. -
