I think that's partly because of the avatar contest and also that maid avatar stayed for quite a while in the forum, so somehow that image remain stuck in many people's minds.

Same here, my elder boy has quite a fair bit of bad genes from me, migraine and myopia! Husband has perfect eyesight and so does younger boy!
