There isnโt one solution for everyone, and whatever solution one choose, it must couple with proper eye-care for higher success rate.

Hi jedamum, could your DS be having sensitive eyes as he frequently rubs his eye?
My DS has that problem as there is history of ecmeza in the family. It was picked up by the opthalmologist by accident. During one of the health checks when he was in K2, we were told to bring him for follow up to check for lazy eye. Towards the end of the consultation, I casually mentioned to the opthalmologist that DS likes to rub his eyes. She did a check and said that he has sensitive eyes. So he is now on an eye drop too.
my K1 eye-degree is from 150-200. but he does not like to wear his specs and keep rubbing his eyes. he will throw tantrum if i insist that he wear his specs if he wants to watch tv. he said he can see, but i can see he is a bit squinting. how ah?
sensitive eyes? not sure. he has sensitive hearing (he can hear us whispering or talking a distance away and felts upset when we laugh/speak a notch volume louder). how does the eye drop helps?
should i be concerned and what implications if i did not seek further help? when he was younger, he has ingrown bottom eyelashes on one eye. thanks for highlighting.
My DS2 has inward eyelids that causes the eyelashes to rub on the cornea. So DS2 always rub his eyes and now doc recommend surgery to push the eyelids outward. Otherwise, there will be permanent scar on the corneas. Did your DS go for any surgery? -

my ds did not go for surgery. his eyelash is quite long, so now i guess it did not affect him as much. only when he is sick and has sticky eyes, do i see that portion of the lashes sticking (obvious) to his eyeball.
yes, i heard about needing to do surgery for severe cases. maybe you wanna get second opinion first? -

Bcos, I noticed that some of the eye supplements are also made up of blueberries. My DD did take those eye supplements for a few years but not helping all So I give her fresh blueberries instead and it really did help her. Maybe it's up to individual. I always buy from Giant or NTUC. It's normally available, just more expensive when it's not on promotion. This is just my suggestions. Thanks
for blueberries, how much did you give your kid per serving?
thanks. -

I am thinking of second opinion but I do not know of any good docs.

It depends. Sometimes 1 packet each, sometimes 2 of them share 1 packet.shurley197323:

My dd went for her review at KKH recently and with the help of atropine drops the last 4 months, her degree seems to have stabilised. So relieved. Doc says to continue with drops.
I am very concerned that once she starts P1, it may go up again. Will just have to keep nagging at her to practise good eye habits. Hope atropine is helping the other kids here -

have you brought your child to see a pediatric ophthalmologist to determine if it is truly trichiasis (inward turning eyelids). Sometime the condition is intermittent and surgery may not be required. KKH or SNEC would have the specialists to help diagnose properly. -

I attended the public forum by SNEC (Singapore National Eye Centre) recently. Yes, altropine eyedrop is the only proven treatment for controlling the myopia progression. The second study of altopine eyedrop with lower dosage by SNEC will complete next year. And SNEC will set up a myopia clinic for children next year.My dd went for her review at KKH recently and with the help of atropine drops the last 4 months, her degree seems to have stabilised.
