It is stated in the option form whether yr kid is eligible of HMT .

I have checked and none of the student got such letter. DD is the top 10% with A* in Chinese and Merit in Higher Chinese. I am puzzled ?

I don't think you receive any specific letter. When I took my PSLE in the past I think when you're selecting whether you want HCL or not is when you submit your school choices also. But it's a few years ago so can't really remember.

PSLE is not the end okay. There are people in my school who entered into the top class in Sec 1 with a score of 260+ yet at sec 3 (and subsequently sec 4) they are in the bottom 2 classes. And there are also those who got 210-220 in my school scoring 6 for L1R5 at prelims. Sure, they are not the norm but the exceptions but it’s all determined by your own effort really.

HMT & 3rd language eligibility are both stated & enclosed in the same sealed S1 form (different page).


I had originally missed it too, only saw the option page. Only thru KSP then I realised & went back to re-look at the S1 form.

Pls check again. As for details, MOE website has it.

I called MOE and they told me there should be a letter confirming that. The lady checked through the system and stated the eligibility as :-


1. Top 10% T-score in psle, or
2. A* in CL or at least merit in HMT

My DD qualified and yet did not get such letter. In fact the other better students too did not receive such letter. The MOE lady will call my DD's school and will get back to me on that. I hope this will help to clear my doubts

It was stated in the sealed envelope. Please look through the 1st printed page, ie the page before the form that required to fill up the 6 choices and 3rd language.

That's the power of KSP
For 3rd language, deadline is over. Supposed to be same submission timeframe as the 6 choices.
For HMT, my understanding is to apply during the S1 registration day.

Dear Parents,


The PSLE T-Score is just a number.

Transition from primary to secondary education depends highly on the maturity and built of the mental physique.

Many parents attempt to put their kids in top schools based solely on the T-Score achieved for this FY2012. And this is not a good directive to depend solely upon to seek out a institution of higher learning.

If the kid is not self-motivated or armed with the right aptitude, he or she will be easily demoralised when the goals previously set are not readily met.
