The IP track is for students who plan to pursue their tertiary education in university. The subjects taught are accelerated and pure in nature, preparing students to take up the A-level syllabus at the very early stage typically in year-4. With minimum GPA for promotion between years. Potential students are advised to stay focus in both your studies and CCA if you intend to pursue your desired course of study in Uni, else the O-Level track would be a better option for you. Stay focus and excel, all the best to your post PSLE posting. Cheers

RE: BP or Nan Hua
The key purpose of education as a child matures is to explore, learn, communicate, meeting new friends, lead, perform, engaging new challenges, adapt and grow. BP is one of the few top schools in the west. And do remember, when your child is required to choose the subjects in Year-3, take up science if they are well rounded in both sports and the subjects. Chemistry is compulsory if youโre heading for JC in science subjects. Bio is not required even if your child is poised to take up medicine in uni. Have A Beautiful Learning Journey.

HCI_Boy:
Hi, are there any parents who have children who have gone through HCI DSA? Can you share with us the topics.
DSA is only suitable for students whom are confident, diligent and consistent in their academic performance, not forgetting widen in exposure (read and do research of subject interest)
Getting in through DSA without the \"true quality\" of a student of both excellence in academic and CCA would be tough run for the student if he or she do pull through the DSA with some luck
I would advice that if the needs to go through DSA belies on the wants of the parent, then it's a wrong move.
The student would be put through undue stress if he/she does get in with some pure luck. Think before Action. -

This thread is losing its purpose. Sigh.
I wholeheartedly agree with you, sneha.
But ... the typical essence of kiasu parents are still there.
Stay on threads, kiasu parents, try not to deviate too much from the main agenda ... thanks -

RE: PSLE 2013 - Results Discussion
A very Good Monday Morning to all Parents and Aspiring Students, the S1 posting shall conclude in about 3 days' time. Indeed the selection of the next institution of learning can be quite stressful for both parents and students, perhaps more for the parents. An important point to take note, the portfolios undertaken in secondary education is totally different from primary education. Some students may get a momentary culture shock as the subjects covered are much more broad based. In this case, some students may felt disheartened as they fall behind their cohort, in brief, demoralized. An important keynote, selecting an institution of choice and getting in is one thing, able to attain the level of achievement desired is another. Be conscious and open in your S1 selection and posting, utmost importance is the student's historical aptitude (the academic strength) and attitude (behavioral management). We do not want to put in any undue stress or be too lax in our approach for the next learning lap. All the Best in the S1 posting Cheers

kira:
If my dd wants to only take French as 3rd language, is it possible to choose French as 1st choice and leave the 2nd and 3rd choices blank? Thanks!
Good Day, Kira, first and foremost, congratulation. Taking more subjects in secondary education does not necessary make the kid a bright student. If your kid is taking up the 'O'-level track, subject selection and combination plays an important part in the GCE examination, which may give the kid lesser stress with optimal achievement in the subject grading for the 'A'-levels (i.e. selection of a JC that's meet your choice) ... the same goes for the IP track, whereby the subject combination is more focus on individual's academic strength ... and that lays the path towards uni-education. Consult, rethink, re-assess and go for it thereafter, more does not necessarily meant stellar performance in the latter stage. The learning journey, it's perpetual ... -

Do you think the intake cut won't increase the COP?
Good Day, Parents & Students,hmsg:
The possibilities that COPs will go up and go down are making people http://www.sherv.net/emoticons.html
Dont think the COP for this year will go up. A matter of how much the drop... although I think max is -3 pts, but I think it will be -2...
The COP + or - do make you go crazy, it's ok , it's alright, but why stress yourselves. Mathematically, there's intake management, there's grading tweaks, there's posting perks, there's individual institution's needs to maintain a reputable \"crop\" ... think of it, why stress yourselves, just select the institution of choice that falls within your academics' strength and 'x-factor', have A Great Day, do Enjoy the Weekends. Once the new academic year starts, it's back to the learning journey. Cheers
