PSLE 2012 - Results Discussion
-
Hi
Can someone pls help me clarify if I understand correctly? The posting is based on the result and not the choices we made, right? My DS got 263+2. We are thinking of trying RI as our first choice and Hwa Chong as 2nd. Will his chances of getting in Hwa Chong be lower since he didn’t put Hwa Chong as his first choice? From my understanding, the MOE already "rank" each students according to their results and will consider the posting one by one, starting from the top scorer. So by the time it reaches my son, if RI is full and Hwa Chong still got vacancies, he will still get it even before another child who scores lower than him but put Hwa Chong as his first choice. Can someone please help to clarify is my understanding is correct?
Thank you! -

To the parent whose son score 263, if another guy with 263 put HCI as his first choice, he will get it over your son/
Only272, thank you for your clarification. So only those that score the same 263 will get consideration first with the school of their first choice, right? -
My DD 264 (3A* + 1A-chinese).

My son didn't do very well...we were caught off guard.
He has 203. Need time to get over it.

Hi Janet, I fully understand how you feel. He at least qualify for express course. Our ds will mature and do well eventually. -

This information is wrong. Allocation is by merit, not order of choice. The exact details of how allocation is done in event of same score can be found in the grey guide bookOnly272:

Hear hear... You have been a great source of help. Exam is a one off event, anything could have happened. It's over and we can only look forward. No point dwelling.
Hugs to you and your son. The road is long. And one exam ain't going to determine the rest of life. -

This is wrong. Who has the priority will depend on who has higher score and not on the choice. If both score 263, there are still decimal points behind 263 (but not made known to students) and whoever has higher scores will get higher priority.Only272:
