If your dd passes her htm in year 4, then she doesn't have to take it during A levels so she can focus on other subj. That's the good thing.my dd is offered hmtl n 3rd lang
she will b joinin e ip prog
can some1 advise, wat role does hmtl play during A level, if we take it
3rd lang
For my son's sch, students are allowed to substitute the GPA for 3rd lang to replace a subj he didn't do so well in - maybe geog or history (except 4 core subj eng, chinese, math and sci cannot be replaced). But i'm not sure if this applies to all sch. -
only in ip school?

Hi, I am new here and DD took her PSLE this year.
She had obtained 3As and 1Astar and has an aggregate of 238, just wondering if she can enter either Nan Chiau High or Chung Cheng High(Main).
Pls help. Thanks alot! -
Instead of being concerned about the individual students with the highest PSLE score and the schools they attend, I think it would be more productive for parents to look at statistics that would help them to make better decisions. For example, for parents looking for a primary school to send their kids to, do they want to send their kids to a particular primary school simply because that school happens to have produced a student with very individual PSLE score? or do they want to send their kids to a school that over the years has consistently produced good overall PSLE results? What is the relevance of a high scoring individual student to the education of your children? In that regards, I would like to highlight something about Nan Hua. If I'm not wrong, they have 80 students who scored at least 3A*, and 37% of their students score at least 250 this year. Just imagine, almost 40% of their graduating P6 students would be going to good schools. If you need to register your child for P1, won't a school like that be a strong pull factor?

When comparing the different schools, I think we should compare the % of pupils with 250+ and the mean scores of the schools. We also should exclude the GEP students of the school since they are originally from different schools and they should be 250+ in any way. Including these factors, maybe you will find many schools may not be that good as it appears. I think Rulang or Aitong is better than NY or Nan Hua, after all if you child can enter GEP, she/he can get high score in any school.

Hi, my daughter scored 252 + 2 HMT. 2A* maths + eng. 2A science + tamil. She was a potential high scorer who didn’t do upto the expectation and yet dreaming of IP programmes. Following are my choices for her. Pls advise if am being realistic and trying to secure a place for my daughter in a good school.
1. NJC IP cut-off 258
2. Cedar girls IP. Cut-off 258
3. TJC IP. Cut-off 255
4. MGS IP. Cut-off 255
5. SCGS IP Cut-off 250
6. Cedar girls express. Cutoff 249
Really need some expert advise and good guidance please. Thanks a lot!
