In primary school since P4 my chinese was always in the 50-60+ range, never see 70+ before. But I still got A for PSLE for Chinese, so it’s really not that hard to get an A.

My mom and Chinese teacher helped me in writing. My phrasing was awkward and I wrote in baby words. They taught me internals, 成语 and few other good phrases to use in my compositions.
Do you mind sharing how you started to improve? Was it becos your school chi teacher helped you in compo writing? Or you 开窍?Or other reasons?Haneyi:
When I first started writing compositions in P2 / P3, my score was stuck at 13 and 14 for a while. But by end of P3, I started scoring a steady 16 / 17 / 18. ^^ Your DD is still young, I have a classmate who was not from a Chinese background and was not scoring very well for that language, but she got an A for Chinese in PSLE.
Thanks
Though if you just use them at P6, they probably will just get you a 30/40 or so since they are common and very ' cliché '. -

The Math paper I sat for was challenging albeit manageable. It is hard to score ( easy to make careless mistakes ) under examination stress though, I lost marks for questions that I did numerous times in test papers. -

Agree. to get A is not difficult. To get A*, you need to work harder.
