RI Maths Competition

Hi Sally,
I think you are referring to NUS High DSA application - which has to be register yourself. I was referring to NUS High Maths Olympaid registration - understand from some parents that this has to be registered by schools. A parent told me that cannot register thru’ tuition center anymore. I’ve not checked, anyway, school will do registration if kid qualifies for this. -

Sorry, too stress recently. Yes, the NUSH Maths Olympiad has to register thru school because the 1st round the school will collect the paper from NUSH & the student will sit the competition in their Pri School. -

Understand NUS high has changed policy and require the students to register thru' school only. That's the latest I've heard from some parents who are trying to register their kids this year.
My son took the NMOS through Maths Oasis last year. Perhaps rules have changed since. -

Hi one can register through certain tuition centres too. These tuition centres are considered as schools too.Pen88n:

Take note that registrations closes on 8th may 2009. If your child is not registered by the primary school, you can approach certain tuition centres to register you. -

Went to Maths Hub website, looks like they are setting up a new centre known as Math Arena http://www.matharena.com.sg in bedok. Thanks, Clover. I like the Maths hub looks ok, but distance very very far for me. Global Maths so far heard feedback not so great - mostly concern tutors quality.
Anyone know of any good ones in town area or in the north? Parents sho have kids participating in Maths Olympiad, where did you send your kids for training - only provided training by school or do you get outside enrichment as well? How effective are these enrichment classes? Appreciate your feedback / recommendation. Thanks. -
Wondering why this forum has been so quiet? Is it because the RI competition is too tough so many parents just ignored it?

Results for 2019 is out incase your child took part in this year’s contest

Hi,
What are the awards (for RIPMWC) that will be helpful for DSA ? Also, is this tougher than SMOPS and NMOS? -

RIPMWC (called RMO since 2024) is supposed to be the hardest.
- Round 1 consists of 20 MCQ questions
SMOPS is similar in difficulty
- Round 1 consists of 30 open-ended questions.
NMOS is set at P5 level and hence is the easiest.
