No of course not. There are more girls than boys in Singapore so of course, there seems to be more.

Yes, Xinmin and Zhong Hua are definitely up there. The future 2nd tier is likely to include:

            CHIJ Toa Payoh
            Maris Stella
            St Magaret
            Swiss Cottage
            Tg Katong Sec

Trust I have answered your query.

If you think about it, with this move, the current top 5 JCs (RIJC, HCJC, NJC, TJC, VJC) all have affiliated IP sec. It will get harder to get in to these JCs via \"O\" Level results.

              sigh! that is the truth

Actually TKGS's rank is band 1 for 2007 and for 2008, and dropped back to a highBand2 for 2009. Considering the cutoff for PSLE entry is quite low , i think the school has done well in adding value to the students by producing a high L1R5 score. Not forgetting the school also loses some of the best students when these students IP out to TJC or VJC at Sec 2. So I think in terms of value add, it's not a mean feat.

As to why the sch has lost some of its popularity, well there are such a wide array of choices now - the IP, SAP schools, NUS High, SOTA etc. So it's not a wonder the educational landscape has changed significantly from the past.

But are these 980-1000 all uni bound? or even 50% of them?

I've nothing against girls lah. Just :?

Already there are more girls than boys in NJC, DHS. Ratio is like 2:1.
Does this happen to RVHS too?
Seems like the new JC will also have this kind of ratio.
Someone is this thread also posted he heard for VJC ip Sec 3, 1/3 fr VS and 2/3 fr girls sch like CGS?
