Well this is a experience I shared about 2 years ago...said nephews have already stopped CMA altogether becos my sister has too many enrichment classes for them, and both are very clear on what they are more interested in, and would like to continue with so yeah.

<<My twin nephews are learning at CMA, and becos the older twin is more disciplined and interested in the concepts taught at CMA, he's, ah thriving at his lessons and his mental calculations are wonderful--for a 5-year old! I know CMA incorporated both the Abacus and Mental Arithmatic system in their teachings; cos he has this thing called a Picture Card which is a reflection of the Abacus but the beads are replaced by pictures to help them visualise the beads when calculating sums. He's using the card to calculate his sums.

But my younger nephew is not interested at all, and he always complains that using the Abacus is tedious, and find no \"meaning\" in learning, much less memorising the concepts or the activities conducted during his class, so my sister pulled him out.

But after attending the classes, both my nephews are able to observe and remember things better; albeit the older one is always beating the younger one in observing the same things faster. Like, they would both notice a different coloured flower in the bush of red flowers but my older nephew would always point it out to us first, before my younger nephew complains that gorgor beat him to it.

Just my two-pence's worth. >>

Hope this helps other parents in deciding. My baby still has to learn how to stand on his feet, so I'm not in a hurry to join yet.
