Order from Dangdang

oh dear. Are you able to contact the spree organiser? In this case, it's a bit complicated becos you are not the one ordering. Perhaps you can email dangdang customer service with a photo of the book (and the order number), not sure if they are able to do something about it.I just receive my book ordered from Dang Dang thru spree. The book look extremely old from its cover. Seem like left on the shelf for more than ten years.
Disappointed.
I placed 2 orders last August and then cancelled it after payment was made. All this time, DD forgot to refund me and I didn't check. In Feb I emailed them about the refund and they processed it quickly. In addition, I complained about my exchange rate loss (RMB went down a lot since then) - and they gave me vouchers (enough to compensate the difference). What I got out of it is that I mustn't be afraid to complain.

When is the book published? Ordered from dangdang via sprees several times, noticed books that are published prior to 2007/2008 will be rather old. Probably kept in warehouse for a long time. Even the spree organiser advised spreeists not to order such books.I just receive my book ordered from Dang Dang thru spree. The book look extremely old from its cover. That's right ! I also emailed dangdang about 2 books that are damaged due to shipping, and they refunded me. -
Today I received 2 parcels from dangdang.com, one shipped out on 10 Feb, the other one shipped on 28 Jan, and both arrive on the same day. So it could take more than 2 months for the books to arrive.
I think the \"shipped out\" date means the date that the dangdang staff sent to the post office. It does not mean that the parcel is really out of China on that day. The post office may take a long time to ship out the parcels  -
The shipping take so long, is it because they use land instead of air?

It should be sea shipping using container ships. I don't think there is land shipping from China. Definitely not air shipping which is very expensive.
I wish that dangdang.com can allow users to choose air or sea shipping. However, only http://www.amazon.cn provides that option, and it is ridiculously expensive. RMB140 for a book that costs less than RMB10, but it will arrive within 7 days. -
It is taking DD longer than usual to process my payment with the DBS re-issued AMEX with the chip

Yup, for my case, maybe due to bad weather at that time, it took about a month from time of dispatch from warehouse to clear custom in Guangzhou. I wonder, for overseas add, is there a specific place that they can only send for clearance? Mine was posted from Jinan and cleared custom in Guangzhou

How do you find out about these details ?
All I know is that all books are sent out from Beijing -

Is it the DBS Amex Takashimaya card ?
Due to the long waiting time, I am now getting books meant for secondary school students in China, though my kids are only P1 and P2. Storing the books for future use
The best is to have someone in China receive the books for me. My hubby is working there now. He received the books within 24 hours after I placed the order !
