Most probably. Anyway, supp class already started this week for some schools. Kids have to go back for supp class on last week of hol. -
DS is more than happy to go back to school as he cannot wait to see his friends again.
Is your ds dd/ glad to go back to school too? -

Same here. DD also prefers to go back school to meet her friends. This few days she is trying to clear those story books borrow from Library.DS is more than happy to go back to school as he cannot wait to see his friends again.

Same for DS too, but can't say he's gonna look forward to the work load though. I somewhat feel that he can't wait for the PSLE to be over and done with.

Cant wait for PSLE to be over :please:. Was trying hard to resist the \"Parents Taking PSLE\" syndrome but effort was completely thwarted after the Meet-the-Parent briefing session by all the subject teachers. Their presentation on how to help your child prepare for PSLE (or rather how he can score 4A*) was so thorough and informative that I felt guilty and useless (in advance) if I did not even help him score at least an A*. It immediately brought out the ugly and competitive side of me and I start to plan his 117 days to PSLE timetable in my brain down to the minutes.

Ignorance is bliss (or at least less stress). Maybe I should just continue to be blur about PSLE and leave it to the teachers to do their job.... cos I know he is in good hands.

That's remind us that in about 117 days this stressful event will be over.Me too. Cant wait for PSLE to be over :please:. Think the next 2 months they will be busy on oral rehearse and of course many of worksheets to complete too. -
Personally, I feel that we should not stress the students unnecessarily. Let me state a few reasons for my '‘optimism’. Most of our kids started their preparation rather late. In fact, I feel that one should already start to prepare for PSLE since primary 4. Yes, primary 4, no kidding. The students need to have a solid foundation before they proceed to more difficult concepts. Nope, this is not an act of "kiasu-ness". In my view, it is better for the students to learn the difficult concepts slowly (2 years to learn), rather than letting them cram everything into their tiny brains at the last minute (in their final P6 year).
Even if the students do badly for their PSLE, it is not the end of the world. Touch wood! Should they end up in the normal stream, they will still have a chance to fight back at the end of year 2 (streaming). If they do well for the streaming, they will be converted back to the express stream. I know it is easier said than done. That is why we should show care and concern for our kids. We need to be patient with them. Nevertheless, we should not forget that some students are late-boomers. As long as they get themselves promoted to secondary schools, then we should thank our lucky stars already

As the date of PSLE draws nearer, I am of the opinion that as parent, we should just be around to support the kid. We will point the direction, and help when help is needed. But the actual effort has to come from the kid thru’ his / her own motivation.
Come secondary school and they are on their own - we can’t continuously monitor and "push" for every subject by then. So, they have to realise the "push" has to come from internal. -

In fact we can observe from the forum that most of the discussions are on primary school matter compare to secondary school. Think the most the parent can help is up to P6 and the secondary may quite beyond our reach as the children will be busier and also have their own thinking as they have turned into teenager. As the date of PSLE draws nearer, I am of the opinion that as parent, we should just be around to support the kid. The next 3 months are more on their own effort.
