Hi, any idea when the S1 posting results be released this year, considering the fact that PSLE is being held earlier now? DS1's time was around 22dec and reporting to secondary school was the next day. Need to book vacation n we are not able to travel anytime from oct to mid december. Sigh

Hi, hashroop, I emailed MOE sometime in July and this is their reply. Not sure if this is the latest info.
Thank you for your email on xx yyyyy 2011.
We wish to inform you that the date of release of the 2011 PSLE Examination results has tentatively been scheduled to fall within the period between 24 November 2011 and 28 November 2011.
Currently, the 2011 Secondary 1 Posting - Important dates are not confirmed. However, the window period for the PSLE results and Secondary 1 posting results is around the 4th week of November and 4th week of December respectively.
Please also note that the Secondary One (S1) Posting Exercise is normally conducted immediately after the release of the PSLE results.
For families who are travelling at that period, may appoint a proxy to act on behalf of them. The proxy may assist you on the following.
1. Collect your child’s / ward’s PSLE results slip, S1 Option Form and other relevant documents on your behalf
2. Submit the duly completed S1 Option Form on your behalf
3. Report to secondary school for registration
You may wish to refer to the following website for last year's dates and may use the information provided as a rough gauge.

It’s always been the norm for schools to set high standard and very difficult papers for their Prelim exams. From heresay, its to kind off "wake the students" up. But what baffles me why Prelim and why not SA1 when the students would have enough time to "wake up"! I feel Prelim papers should be set as closely as possible to PSLE so as not to demoralize the students but give them the boost up confidence for the final race!

Hi[quote=\"fruitteller\"
With the PSLE results, does anyone know what sort of marks are classified under A*/A/B/C... ??
Sorry, hope i am making sense here.
Just preparing myself...hahahaha...my ds MT is really not that good...so wondering if it will be a 'B' or maybe even a \"C\"
Some ideas on the score/grading system from the experts here will be much appreciated!
:thankyou:
Based on what my older two went thru, about 40% of the cohort gets A and A* for English, Math and Science. For Chinese, about 80% of cohort gets A or A*. Ultimately it is the actual T score for each subject that counts.
Hi Fuzzy Bear, Thanks for attempting to answer my doubts, appreciate it.
But i was wondering what could possibly be the range of marks for these grades. read in another thread that A* = 91 and above. If thats true....my son chinese will bound to be no more than a \"B\" i think.
Basing on Most Sch Scoring system ....
A* - 91 and Above
A - 75 to 90
B - 65 to 74
So there's a Large Range of Marks that can Qualify as A ....
