      Hi Brenda,

      3 days for ds too.

Dont think the prelim papers will be out next week, probably during the school holidays.

      Hi Leanne

Think the schools want them to have enough rest before the next race.

Also, the supplementary class will resume once the school re open on 12/9.

I think dd should be able to know her results next week except the prelim papers may return later.

        Hi Brenda,

Yes, agreed that all results should be out by next wed.Papers will not be released cos there is one kid in DS class still has not taken the paper yet.

Should have a good feel when the T score is out.

        Cheers,
        Leanne

Hi, Leanne, you mentioned about the T-score calculated by the school.

I’m just curious: how are we supposed to interprete this number?
It will be pretty inaccurate because the sample size of the school’s cohort is less than 7% of the entire P6 cohort.
Or do we take it as an indication of where our child stands, you know, with the average, max and min.
          Just curious…

            Hi Leanne

I doubt dd school will give us the T-score.

Think may base on the following link to estimate the T-score and discounted 5 -10% since dd is from neighborhood school.

              MandyMummy,
I think that is the best you can have - comparison with school cohort. The school cohort is a small subset of national PSLE cohort. Hopefully it is some indication of your kid's standing in the school.

You need the mean and standard deviation to be able to compute the T-score. Knowing ave, max and min is not good enough, as you do not know majority falls within what range, and if your kid is within, or outside the range (above is good, below is worrisome).

                Hello,

Actually based on the past trend in DS’s school, its plus or minus five marks from the overall score. To be prudent, I will minus five to ten marks from ds raw score.Of course, there is always one or two exceptional.

                Cheers,
                Leanne

Yah, I think I'll take the number to be an indication of where my ds stands and how to improve for PSLE.
