Hi Brenda,
Yes...the power of the media & advertisements! Nowadays, the kids are all very updated and IT savvy. So we parents need to be financially savvy :moneyflies: ...haha
It's good that your DD has no homework.....this is the best time to do all the prelim papers. Keep up the momentum...I'm sure your DD will meet her target of finishing the prelim papers by next Wed/Thurs. Jia you! :rahrah:
Hi Tinkerbelle,
Agree!
BTW, just curious does your dd read a story book of \"Shimmer\" ?
Saw it at the Popular with a lovely cover! -

Yes, DD has already read 'Shimmer'. She really enjoyed it. Reading helps her to destress.
Now she's reading 'City of Glass' under the Mortal Instruments series.
If only she reads more Chinese books......

PSLE pic desc will have abt 3 focal points. So kids need to elaborate and describe each point as much as possible. I'm not sure if there is any impact on the marks if prompted by the teacher.Since this is the 2011 PSLE thread, may I check with your dd/ds, for both the english and chinese oral, is the picture more 'complicated' than those shown in the oral assessment books or those that they practise in the exam. 'Complicated' as in the sense that there are many events happening in the picture that the child needs to talk about. Around how many events/points in each picture? From what I know from my son last year, english picture is less complicated and it is ok for the teachers to prompt you with more questions.
TIA.
The practise pics usually have more, just for practice.
Earlier on Vanilla_cake's mom have given a good desc of this year's oral pics. You will have to dig out pages from 18-19 Aug 2011. Guess there was some discussion in the DSA thread as well around the same time. Not sure if you will have the patience to dig it out though! -

This year prelim paper seems not so complete.DS teacher will give them other schools prelim paper when school starts.
Hi Tinkerbelle,
Yes, hope so and this will be a bonus lah!!!
BTW, dd also mentioned another show \"Spy Kids 4\" and wish to watch before this weekend!
 I have no problem if she competed 3rd set of Math and Science by tomorrow!
Our gals are really movie fanatics huh....DD also told me she wants to watch \"Spy Kids 4\" by this weekend. I haven't promise her yet...depends on how much homework she gets from sch today. Tomorrow, she has another Maths Mock test, followed by more mock tests on Monday & Tuesday. Does your DD have mock tests after her prelims too?
Wow...your DD very fast le.....finish 3rd set of maths & sci prelim papers today!! DD only did 1 Science paper last night.....slow & steady...keke
Hi Tinkerbelle,
:hi5: DD always get the news from TV advistment or radio and will start request for a show!
Not so fast lah! Yesterday was the rest day and as such by tomorrow 3rd set!
BTW, I'm not sure about what will be the activities on school next week but I know she has no homework during this 4 days! :scared:
As such, we will try to finish the Math (7 sets) and Science paper (8 sets) latest by next Wedesday/Thursday!
-

Hi Tinkerbelle,
Have to come out some idea to destress and amuse ourselves in the midst Hi Tinkerbelle,
36 is only once in a blue blue moon.Usually around 33 or so.
Model is a like unless so used and comfortable to it.
Cheers,
Leanne
Hi Leanne,
That's true...we must have some humour to destress & keep ourselves sane throughout PSLE.
Good to hear your DS prefers to use models to solve maths questions. DD hates drawing models & will only use it as a last resort. I think she's just lazy to draw models la...haha. I guess all methods are good if they can help you solve the questions.
Wow....your DS very impressive....can score 36 for CL compo. I have yet to see DD score that high. DD also the same as your DS.....always write too long and with no time left to finish CL compo, then she'll rush through her conclusion. :skeptical: -

Yesurday called Jeremy and he said will deliver today but no have le ...

Yesterday again I called and he still said 'Sorry, will deliver tomorrow'. Some of my friends have already bought from the malls. I was waiting because I had placed the order. Yesterday told jeremy to cancel my order and now I'll go and buy myself.
