Posted this on science thread but no answer. does anyone know the answer? desperate.....no one answered yet.

      Question:
Cutting down of trees will cause the phenomenon 'global warming'. Which of the following are involved in global warming?
A: burning of trees causes the carbon in the tree to combine with oxygen in the air to form carbon dioxide.
B: Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere acts as a blanket to trap heat in the Earth.
šŸ˜„ Without trees, Sun heats up te Earth's surface directly.
😧 Soil erosion will destroy aquatic life forms, which in turn will enhance global warming subsequently.

      (1) A and B only
      (2) A, B and C only
      (3) A, B and D only
      (4) A, B, C and D

Answer is (4). My son doesn't think C and D are involved in global warming. Is he correct or is he wrong. His answer is (1).

A and b are definitely correct as all the options have a and b. C is wrong as c happens only because of the depletion of the ozone layer and global warming isn't involved. For d, the life forms also refer to plants as they have lives too, and when all of them die, decomposition happens and more carbon dioxide will be released into the atmosphere and would thus enhance global warming. So, my answer is (3) hope this helps.... šŸ˜„

Yup just let ds see, same answer as yours šŸ˜„

When the t score is calculated. Is the standard deviation and mean for malay Tamil Chinese and ntil is separately calculated?

Should be. Cos their standard may be different. šŸ¦†[/quote]Usaully the t-score for chinese is the lowest compared to the other three languages am I right ?? 🤷

its what i'd call a good (welcome) headache... Call me sour grapes but really when you have gotten CO for one of the top/ reputable schools and worry about such 'trivial' dilemma, parents like me can just ROLL eyes. CO is obviously from a school you had put in effort for DSA, then why gripe now?

sorry i may seem insensitive but i guess its all relative!
Just not their 1st choice DSA school, lor ....
            ..... but ... I Like your Post ---> :goodpost:

When the t score is calculated. Is the standard deviation and mean for malay Tamil Chinese and ntil is separately calculated?

As far as I know, all the MT papers are pegged at the same standard. That's why picture for compo are all the same; same goes for oral. Maybe the compre passages are the same too, just translated into different languages.

So, if the tamil is tougher than Mandarin for this year, so the mean will be lower and t score will be higher?

Will the mean and standard deviation used for all the MT will be based on individual MT ie Malay, Tamil or Chinese or the overall mean and standard deviation for Malay, tamil and Chinese

Logically C is true cos shade definitely will block off sunlight and cool down the temperature.
And that has nothing to do with the ozone layer which is another story.
Ozone layer problem mainly concerns UV light radiation and not global warming.

                    So I think it's 4.
