Ms tay:
If your school has a top PSLE scorer in all of Singapore, the school will call the child to inform him in the morning to prepare him for the deluge of Press.hi all
I heard that the sch will inform the top scorer on the result release day morning ,
Before the principle announce the result, is that true ? -
Ms tay:
Yes..according to Mummystay and vk2010.... I think also the top few scorers of the school  ..hi all

Ms tay:
Actually, the results cannot be released before 12noon. However, some schools do reveal on the sly...like giving the top scorers phone calls and telling them to be in school early.hi all

Just curious, how did your DS2 be exempted from MT ? Does it mean he doesn't need to attend MT lessons at all ? -
Ms tay:
I do not know the formula. However, I can attempt to answer in MOE's ever evasive way: :evil:Hi mummystay

Students who are exempted from taking Mother Tongue will have their aggregate of the 3 remaining subjects transformed based on a complicated statistical method of computation so that no student will be advantaged or disadvantaged.
On a more serious note, based on my experience, students who are exempted from MT tend to produce better than expected results at PSLE. So, you need not worry.

Dear Ms Tay, I believe your daughter did very well for the 3 other subjects right? something like 85 and above hence the MT can be exempted. I heard there is a formula to calculate the T-Score by using the 3 best score to replace the MT, my DS schoolmate, some of them did drop MT but do very well for the other 3 subject...Hi mummystay
