Moreover, as long as a PASS (not necessary Merit/Distinction) in Grade 5 in both Theory & Practical will do.
Heard from my nephew who is in ACSI said min. requirement is Grade 3. -

NUSH - open house 9 Aprilphankao:
I think NJC would have their school tours for junior high in April. Look out for them. HCI, DHS, NYGH about all in mid-may. RI & RGS too. NUSH might have April open house too.
SST - open house 21 May
SJI - open house 16 July
That's what I gather. Parents who know when is the open house for HCI / RV / NJC etc , do share if you have the dates. Many thanks

It sounds like different schools have set different minimum criterias for admission into their MEP programme. Is your DD interested in the MEP? -

True. May be different school have their own criteria. I don't think so she will be choosing MEP as she has started learning quite late lah. -

Music or Visual Art (SAP)
But if the child has only grade 7 or 8, but is National Prizewinner, sure to get offer. ;D That's what I've observed of those offered.jtoh:
It's very difficult to get into RGS via MEP. Friend's dd who is very talented in music, has diplomas, performances under her belt etc didn't get in. It probably has to do with the strict GAT test as well.
Demonstrate interest and talent in Music or Visual Arts beyond the abilities of children in the same age group.
For Music, have achieved at least Grade 5 Theory and Grade 7 Practical (Distinction or equivalent).
Have a history of accomplished performance in Music or Visual Arts at the national and/or international level.

Her piano teacher wanted her to sit for Grade 5 theory in Oct but we decided against it in view of PSLE around that time. No hurry, can take in Mar next year. -

You're right. The music exam is twice a year but PSLE is once in a life time. -

Grade 3 theory and grade 4 practical is MOE's MEP requirement. So far, I have yet to that ACSI even has any MEP domain for it's DSA. So it's only a programme elective in their school for students already in the school to opt for.tumeric:
