Tinkerbelle:
Hi TinkerbelleHi Brenda,
Thanks. I'm hoping that's the case.....set tough paper as a wake-up call to parents & students. So far, DD only got her MT marks back....I haven't seen the paper yet but as expected, DD lost all her marks in her compre. Looks like we really need to work on her CL compre.
Like you said, we still have time to catch up, right?
Hopefully, my DD doesn't have many subjects to catch up with after CA1 results are back....keke
Yes. Compre is never easy nowadays. Recently we also encountered 1 to 2 questions cannot score full marks even with help from adult and done at home. Hopefully they will be getting better by September after several months of practicing and learning.
Don't worry and I'm sure she will be doing well. :celebrate: -
Hello Tinkerbelle,
Am sure your dd will be able to do well , dont worry so much.
We focus alot more on compre during term one, and thought mcq are typical sets of questions, and proved to be wrong.
Will work on it.Hey, same to you, jia you, jia you.
cheers

Hi Leanne,Leanne:
Hi Tinkerbelle,
Thanks for your well wishes.I believe the school will set tougher paper to \"scare\"them.
They had a mock chinese CA,so tough that even for first section MCQ, ds did not score well.Yet to see the full paper. But, its a good check point, has let him starting to do CHINESE MCQ again, and hopefully in sa1 will do better.
Look on the optimistic side....Maybe because your DS's sch is a SAP sch thus the tougher CL paper.
Practising CL MCQ sounds like a good idea. That's what I plan to do with DD but in her CL compre. As Brenda mentioned in her earlier post, you still have time to catch up so tell your DS don't give up, ya. Aim for an improvement in SA1. :rahrah: 加油!! :rahrah: 加油!! -
Tinkerbelle:
Thanks Brenda....Haven't seen the book \"Red Riding Hood\". Where did you buy the book? Tks. DD also wants to watch the movie during the holidays.Brenda10:
I saw this book on imes Bookshop today but dd choose another book \"Red Riding Hood\" which will be playing on cinema on 10 March.
She wants to see both show.
We got it from Times Bookstore at Plaza Singapura. I think the March holiday has quite a numbers of shows inclusive of Gnomeo & Juliet's etc.
I’m sure they will be happy with all these shows. :celebrate: -

[quote="Leanne"]Hi Mum 1113,
Its got nothing to do with the publication or published dates.Just that ds school test questions happen to be more challenging and one has to be very careful and alert to handle those questions. Most assessment books questions are quite straightforward for mcq.
Cheers

Oh I see…agree, school’s questions always tougher than those done in assessment books. Wonder if the teachers put together their tough brain cells to produce tough questions, so as to prepare the kids, so tough papers. Ours will come back tomorrow for parents to go through, can’t wait to see the papers… -
Hi mummies
Last week dd brought back a Registration Slip from SEAB as well as a Giro Option Letter for signature. As such, we opt for $18 to deduct from Giro Account.
The Registration Slip had printed the 4 subjects she is sitting as well as the duration of time. -

My son has been informed that he has to be in school for the Monday and Tuesday this march holidays.
Is this norm in other schools?
