      OngMum:
I did not call up to enquiry but I read from its website, the response was overwhelming that they have opened new class (fourth run).

Did you enroll your daughter elsewhere for public speaking programme?

      Cheers!
Hi Ongmum, have you tried this center, how do you feel about it? Hope to hear something from you about the public speaking programme...

      Thanks a lot.

        Hi ctct61t,

I have not tried this training centre as I came to know it thru the seminar I attended with my family. The speaker is the one who runs the training centre. I am looking for other alternatives other than this one. You interested to send your child for this programme?

        Cheers!

Hi Ongmum, Thanks for your comments...how do you think about the speaker's english of academy Ig? Is he a local or oversea? As most of their lessons are full, it's difficult to enroll now.

I'm considering about another one, and I made a call this morning, sounds good...http://www.lornawhiston.com.sg/. The receiption girl's english is quite standard, I like the way she talked to me.

            Hi there again,

Jackeline Carter is the speaker and personally, I find she speaks very well. She is the founder of Academy IG and you can read more about her at http://www.academyig.com/about-us/ Jackeline is a Singapore native born to a British father and a Chinese mother, worked as a corporate trainer for many years. What I like about Academy IG is “it conducts Oral Communication classes to prepare students for the Trinity Guidhall Certificate in Oral Communication Grade 1-8. In addition, it is an internationally recognized certification from UK and the examiners flies in to Singapore twice a year to conduct exams.”

Thank you for sharing the information on Lorna Whiston. How old is your kid? Is the rates stated in there the same as what you have quoted over the phone? Thank you.

            Cheers!

My DD will be in P3 next year. I put her in Nafa bilingual class in past 1 year...I decide to pull her out from that class...I call Lorna Whiston to enquiry about their course, and teacher source...feel very good, they have Trinity Guidhall Certificate course as well, but only for kids from P4 onwards. 90% of their teachers are from UK...they have so many kinds of classes, can not decide which is the most suitable one. I did not ask them about course fee as I believe it should be the same as listed on website.

Pls share with me if you have more informations on this topic.

My DD Chinese teacher is quite good, but english...except ask students to memorize the material, nothing else was really told during the class., kids keep talking, drawing, playing games etc during english class, waste money...

their preparation grade teacher who teach both chinese and english is good.

Many of parents there will put their kids out of class.

cos after psle ends, we get withdrawal symptoms like, too much time on our hands and dunno what else to do? or just thinking of getting the results will send our pulse racing and blood pressure rising?

then again, i still have my p4 ds who is taking his sa2 to tekan. 😆
