      Hello everyone

My friend's DD has quite a lengthy name in her BC, e.g.

Tan Hwee Ching (Chen huizheng), Lynda
I think she can use her dialect name for most purposes eg. air travel.
Internationally, names in brackets and after commas are sometimes considered to be as aliases.

Also, unless she is a Christian, having an english name after will not help much.

But I would strongly adding everything in when applying for Flat, using in title deeds, creating wills and applying passports.
If you look at it, in China, she would need to include her name in Mandarin Characters also....therefore less strokes better.

I also have Han Yu pinying in my IC, but I don't use it when I fill up forms. As it is my name already very long so I can understand for kids it will be very troublesome to write everything.

Btw, I seems to have lost my gal's birth cert. Where can I get a replacement?

No, this info is not available. She has her ic made and nowadays on the ic, there is no mention of blood group, unlike our time.

my ic has hanyu pinyin…but when I fill in forms, I leave out the hanyu pinyin and just put dialect name. for the kids, I dropped the hanyu pinyin names from their birth cert, but added their Chinese names.

If you really can't find a record, any polyclinic can do the test. Probably GPs too.

I’m still clueless about both of my Dd’s blood type . They didn’t do the blood test when they were born as I wasn’t notified about it .

Blood type is not needed in ics nowadays
