Dear all,
all my 3 kids were down with Hand-Foot-Mouth last week. Lucky for my ds1 and dd3, they are quite mild. in fact, ds1 like no effect, but since he has HFMD, he can't go to school. The other lucky thing is SA1 is over.
Then for dd3, she just can't eat for 2 days. dd2 is the worst hit. She only start eating last Thursday. I never knew HFMD is so terrible until this round when all my 3 kids were down with it. I think for dd3, quite lucky that she drank a lot of cooling tea, she recover quite fast. dd2, maybe she is not as 'hadrworking' to drinking the tea and in fact, she is the only one with high fever (39deg C), she recovered so late.
Just want to share what I put in the cooling tea for them.

Boil the above for about 30mins, adding brown sugar (the chinese type that has medical effect) for taste. Cool and put in the fridge. When kids have HFMD, they will enjoy cold drink.
Hope that this can be useful for future use. -

Is it due to the recent hot weather? My kids are not exposed to any one with HFMD, until now still not sure how they contacted it. Just hope that they will not get it again.https://www.moh.gov.sg/mohcorp/uploadedFiles/Statistics/Infectious_Diseases_Bulletin/2011/2011_week_19.pdf

Ensure good personal hygiene. Make sure he wash his hands before eating. Do build up his immune system to stay strong.

My dd diagnosed with mild case just this morning. Never handle such thing before. She is not cranky and loves to drink yakult to keep hydration. Keeps reminding her to wash hands and ladle her little fingers , not just washing not enough. Her sch has couple of confirmed cases, does HFMD spread through air-borne ?

thanks wcw

just want to check in what circumstances will the school closed for cleaning?
Probably if the outbreak exceeds a certain number specified by MOH. Understand sch has to report such cases, which means parents and sch must co-operate to keep cases isolated and contain it.
