Ds who is 4 years old got HFMD again!

Last year he got infected twice… I heard that kids from 5 years old onwards are less likely to get infected, is it true?

It seems that his immune system is no good for HFMD. Is there any way to boost his immune system in this area?

This is the third time he is infected with HDFM since beginning of last year but i understand that some of classmates did not infect at all.

Are we all wondering WHY the increase in HFMD at this time of the year?

It's getting earlier in the year and sky rocketting.
Is it because the Childcare providers not being proactive in PREVENTING and not WILLING to spend more in research & prevention OR..........
Are we not learning from previous years outbreak?
Anyone in reading has any input?
            🤷

              missy:
Singapore, up to 14 Jan 2012 (source MOH) (No. of cases)

Singapore: Reported number of cases continuing to remain low but slight increase
since Dec; 673 HFMD cases reported up to 14 Jan in 2012; 347 cases during 8-14
Jan 2012, which is below the warning level (603 cases/week)

Am thinking how ALL infant/child/student care services and even adults can prevent this.........and chance upon this website http://www.ablasia-silver.com that has Silver antimicrobial products that is alcohol and chemical free! I now know that there IS such a product that is Alcohol & chemical free that provides up to 4 hours of protection unlike those currently in the market that is cheap and short lived! It should be short live bacteria & long live silver antimicrobial!
After more snooping around .... Think there was a promotion in Guardian Pharmacy last month....on this Silver gel and Solution. As mentioned I tried the gel and its fantastic on almost anything.....I mean, any kind of cut, scratch, redness, itch, pain (even toothache/bad breathe/sty in the eye/doggie ear infection) ! DO NOT believe me........GO, try it for yourself and benefit from it.
              Hi Missy,
As a parent of a preschooler, I am also very concern about the HFMD epidemic.
The product that you mentioned is Antimicrobial, effective against bacteria. But is it effective against viruses? HFMD is caused by a virus.

hi Angell… According to the site, the Silver Sol binds the viral DNA and render it harmless but not kill it. … and I think so too, cos virus are toughies…

Above and beyond, the supplement and gel is use more as a preventive measure in stagnating the replication of the virus and thus allowing the body system to not be overwhelmed and succum.
                Hope this helps…

                    Zeus:

The HFMD is back. My son was infected after a few of his friends in child care center got it. Now struggling to apply leave to take of my kid, while in the midst of heavy workload.

Some general guidelines that I am currently following:

                    1) Drink lots of fluid.

                    2) Ensure that his hands are washed before meals.

                    3) Coax him into taking light food (even though its very painful).

                    4) Get an oral drop from the doctor which relieve the pain for a short period of time.

🙏 ur DS get well soon.

                    U take care. :hugs:

                    Hi BlurBee,

Thank you. I am glad that my son has recovered just after 8 days. I believe that a child's immune system plays a part in the recovery process. 😓

Are the fees for HFMD consultation very high?
