Is this for DSA via band or ????Although RGS requires Grade 7 onwards and score Distinction but guess what? During audition, all the girls have Diploma in Piano.
For SOTA, they are not looking what grade and what score. On the audition, they give music score and play on the spot. -

So just have to meet the T-score of 250 to get in MGS & SCGS ?
NO
as long as meet the entry requirement for the express stream
school cannot set minimum target t-score for DSA candidate if the candidate has been offered a CO. it defeats the purpose of DSA -
Hi all to those whose kids are trying for DSA this year. Please share what I must do for my child DSA 2013. Is it those between 75 to 80marks for all subjects not worth trying ?
Thanks. -
phankao:
No lah. If accepted, you just need to meet the minimum criteria of the school, something like 200 scoreyukilei:
All these while, I've the impression that as long as one is being accepted during DSA & that the sec school offers IP prog, the child will be in IP regardless of the t-score. Isn't this the case?
Regardless of t-score? Wah, then get t-score 150 also can, har?

DSA for SCGS is for either O levels (DSA-CCA) or IP (academic) . I find that rather odd because it seems to assume that girls who excel in CCA and gain admission via DSA-CCA are not suitable for IP. Did the Principal elaborate on this during the Open House?

LOL - Of course I know that other instruments have grading - besides Piano. My boys all don't take piano but have advanced grading in their individual instruments.
Besides, piano, it's actually possible for one to get grading in their band instrument. But that means private tuition. Issue is this is a niche market and tutor fees can be expensive. Fortunately my kids are attending this MOE music talent thingy so they get their own instrument tutor.

For RGS, or RI, it is for MEP, not music CCA - which is NOT available as a DSA domain for these 2 schools and most IP schools.

Asking her piano teacher if can position her for grade 5 theory.... practical is definitely a stretch. But good to learn that it's not MUST have but nice to have.
Grade 5 theory is not difficult. You can start her on g5 theory lessons now and sit for the exam 27 October 2012. Should have no problem to do well.

Hi, Im a p6 gepper wanting to know more. I submitted for HCi and Ri DSA. So far HCI shortlisted and RI not submitted hard copy docs yet. Anyone can tell me what I can expect for the DSA selection questions?
I thot the hard copy of the application forms and certificates have already been submitted before the closing date...If your overall result is more than 80% then you don't need to sit for GAT test and just wait for the interview.. -

RI can submit before 7 July. I live in Jurong, go there very lehcheh. Also, my results sadly 75.2% only, so need to take GAT[/quote]From what I know, GEP applicants to RI must submit by June 7 (not July 7). The hardcopy and $50 have to be submitted within 10 working days after online registration. Other parents please help confirm the above info.Lovemama:
