      Thanks Everyone!

One more queries - can my boy go through DSA for more than 1 schools so that he has a higher chance of getting to one of the good schools like SJI, Victoria etc?

Does someone know about this? Thanks.

You can apply for DSA at as many schools as you wish BUT be mindful of the time and effort involved. You should apply only for schools that your son is very sure he wants to go to if selected. Do not apply for second choice schools which he might regret getting into when his PSLE scores entitle him to a better school, because once you accept a DSA offer, you cannot participate in the PSLE S1 Central Posting. In other words, you cannot change your mind once you've accepted a DSA confirmed offer. At most, try out for 2-3 schools.

And you will also deprive of another kid of the place who might genuinely want a place in the school. Let's be non-ugly Singaporeans.b

Is it true that you can use ANYTHING to DSA? NGH doesn’t state Art in their DSA criteria but I know of a kid who is going to DSA for NGH using Art.

No you can't. Each school has a list of domains in which it will accept DSA applications for. There are academic domains, such as English, Math, Science, MT. There are sports and aesthetics domains. If art isn't one of the listed domains in NYGH's website, then it is not.

Generally true, but I am wondering, if you become the champion skateboarder in the world (if there is such a thing) and break some Guinness world record on some non-domain, would the school take them in? I think they would? :?

I think their attitude is more of So you're a champion skateboarder, but what can you do for the school? Especially if skateboarding is not a competition sport at Nationals.

Even triathletes may not be able to gain entry via DSA because it's not a recognized domain by some schools. Tri-athletes have to show that they are able to contribute to the track team and/or swim team. In other words, apply under track or swimming.

                    Hi,

My DD is above average in her school, has a sliver in NMOS....we were not keen to take up DSA except for NUSH since the chances for mainstream students are quite slim. But now not sure if it's a waste not to try out? Thinking of trying out RGS under Maths domain...should be no harm cos first round is GAT and if she does not get through, at least we said we've tried...what do you guys think?

you sound half hearted ? NMOS Silver is not a good indicator. Math domain in RI and RGS is extremely tough, not even HCI's SMOPS top 20 platinum has any chance.

So each yr, how many are DSAed into RI via Math Domain? and also how many DSAed into HCI via Math Domain?

if the top 20 platinum has slim chance, what else do they look for?

                    thanks

to RI via math domain - probably can count with fingers on one hand unless they are also GEPpers. they are looking for talent beyond their peers. so if there are 70+ platinum holders, these are peers, you are just one of them, nothing special. If you are holding SMO gold, may be you are special compared to your peers

to HCI - they don't have specific math domain, just generally academic domain, and you are exempted from math test if you hold platinum from SMOPS; and if you are also bilingual talent, you are also exempt from Chinese test

what are these tests? DSA selection tests for those applicants?

half of the 450 intake are DSAed, among these DSAed, how many are geppers? any idea?

previously i tot top MO performers (20 out of 1000+, i.e. 2%) will be someone sought for by top sch....now seems 🤷
