Gd morning, does anyone here knows the school open house for this year?

NUS High
Open House on Saturday 31st March 2012.
Detials on
http://www.highsch.nus.edu.sg/content.p ... d2299f6d23

Anyone can share what will the open house activities be like?
We need to bring anything? Kids need to be in school uniform?
Are we allowed to tour around the school or just go to auditorium for a speech?

One more question : When do we actually submit all these DSA application? Is it dependent on individual schools?
Bring kid and no need to be in schoo uniform. Check schools websites for Open house dates. Usually they will have seniors to bring you around.

DSA application forms submission date line Is set by individual schools.
Typically by 1st wk of JuL.
U Could visit their sch Web site to find out more. But Don't think the 2012 DSA Forms R Available now (Except for SOTA).

More Sch R Going for On-Line Submission now. πŸ˜‚

Most schools have their own application form which you need to complete and submit with the relevant documents required (stated in the application form). You may want to start from there. I'm sure your DS primary school will brief more on DSA in due time. Most will start application etc. in May / Jun period with the SA1 results in-placed.

Ha Ha ....
Port-Fo-Lio .... Such a Big Word!
Sista Here Was :scratchhead: :scratchhead: my Head Last year in May/June Period Too!
Where to start? What to Put in? Am Totally Clue-less Too!

Finally, a couple of Wks B4 the Submission Date, I Took up the DSA Application Forms, Follow what is Stated Faithfully ....

Get my Gal to Write a Personal Statement - Like What they Stated,
Dig Here , Dig There (Like My Doggie! Ha Ha!) ....
Out comes a Stack of Papers ....
And Submit these, Some On Line (Got So Much to Scan! πŸ˜“ ), Some Just Staple and Put in a Clear Folder and Submit to Sch ....
And that Completes the Port-Fo-Lio! πŸ•Ί πŸ•Ί

Not so .... Scary, after ALL! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Please advise. If my DS got a CO from XX school and it is accepted also but the PSLE result came out to be below the t-score of the XX school , what will happen to the confirmed CO. for example XX school t-score is 260 and my DS got 230 only 😒 . Especially For schools like RI, ACS indepedent and NUSH

Leeven, If your ds gets 230 in psle and the cut-off is 260, he will still get into the school by DSA. In ACS, he might be offered the O-level instead of IP program

Anyone has actual experience with DSA via band???

My dd is P5 this year while my ds is P4. Both are very passionate about band and I’ve intention to let them try DSA via band so that they can continue with band.

My thoughts are though the CCA might time consuming but if the kids have passion, it’s better to have them spend time in the CCA than hanging out at some malls with friends???

I want to understand what we are prepare for. They should be going for SYF this year.
