Yes, interestingly the GEP boys said it wasn't that easy. My DS (not GEP) said that English was the defining paper, he took a while to decide on the best options, while Math and Abstract Reasoning were relatively manageable, especially Math. His friend who also did the HAST at NJC said it was much easier than ACSI's.

We signed up for the test on 22 June, there were 480 boys who did the test in the hall. Not sure what was the attendance for the other two test dates.

I don't think they reserved seats for their feeder boys for IB prog. It's purely depending on HAST result. Feeder boys are only given priority for their \"O\" level track.

When we attended the open house talk, they mentioned 50 vacancies for non- feeder, so looking at the 90 allotted for DSA, I thought the other 40 should be for their own feeder boys.

90 vacancies.....and I saw >500 applicants. Competition also really stiff.

As far as I know, there were around 480 boys on the 1st HAST test and another 340 boys on the 2nd and 3rd HAST tests. :yikes: Yes, the competition is really stiff here. :xedfingers:

Maybe big group is the one with very good SA results (eg av high 8xs%) so no need to speak much with them more or less will give CO, while small group is the undecided batch ie must find out more to check them out and some will not be offered. Just a guess.

My DD also attended the 20-pax group interview. It didn't look like it was an interview, more like a formal discussion. After the interview, light refreshment was served and the P & VP went round the room chatting with them. And I heard that the school did not allow interviewees to change from the formal group to the informal group and vice versa. The interview ended with a parting shot from the P that she hopes the girls will seriously consider NYGH and that they can be her students one day...something like that.
