Ya … I agreed with jtoh. That’s too many for the girl. I think parents should wisely make the appropriate choice on the school for DSA and not having the idea of trying of luck on all schools that come with DSA, just like buying toto or 4D … I suppose chance should be given to those students who genuinely want to get into their choice schools via DSA. At the end of the day, PSLE will still be the best results to worth prove the child’s ability if he/she does not get in via DSA.

actually hardly any pressure on the kid if the parents do not impose pressure on them. for most kids, they just take it as another assessment (or chore) and that's it. come what may, still got to write the PSLE
There might be exception cases . Kids talk in school and compare , there is always peer pressure. I have seen personally my DS before camp and yesterday , he sms me so many times what is the outcome. I have friends with kids who did the same.

I know what you mean.

What is important is that before / during the DSA process, must emphasize to the kid to just do their best and if nothing comes out of it, no worry, not a failure, and is good for experience. They sure will chit chat among friends and class mates and hence if their expectation are managed well, it will not negatively impact them even when their friends get offers and the kid did not.

Through the process you build your kid's resilience and fortitude and they learn how to accept disappointment / \"set backs\" and deal with it positively and move on.

Parents are often the culprit because they put too much emphasis on it as if do or die kind of situation and it rubs on to the kids and get affected by it. One parent shared about getting depressed after getting rejection letter ..... but parents should have steeled themselves better to manage their emotion and expectation first.

Ok ok. I admit. I am guilty  😉
I had higher hopes than DS. I did try to manage DS expectation & he was :imcool: while I was :nailbite: But when email came I started 🕺 around, he looked at me & said in a flat tone \"Mommy, Waiting list lah. Not CO  \". :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Well, as long as he's not overly pressurized :rahrah:
But seriously, if the child do wish to enter a certain school, they will to some extend will experience some anxiety like us 😄

That's why when my DH asked for to apply for SJI & NJC. DS said no to it and told if he didnt get then well PSLE is there to go.
:congrats: to All. Now can at least relax.

Does anyone know have DUMN and SNG sent out email for interview? Till now, no news at all............is it no hope?........ 😢

We received the email for interview last Saturday for DUMN. You may call the school for clarification. I think the admin staff there are quite friendly compare to other schools.

                Hi papertree,

Ur child applied under which domain? Academic or CCA?
Under Academic domain.

BeContended, I'm like you too. To be frank, when my DS was in P3, deep inside, I'm already hoping he could try for DSA when he reach P6. Very KS hor... But, back then, I'm not looking at RI or HCI. Just RVH. I feel that if a child can secure a school before PSLE, both child & parent (or only me??? ) will feel less stressful. At least for me, I'll not need to   at DS.
