Better focus on next week PSLE oral and Social Studies SA (for GEPpers). Geppers always have extra challenge compare to mainstreamers. See there is still this sticky SS SA just two days before PSLE Oral, not fair to the GEPpers right? So mainstream parents, dun complain about DSA anymore, if you do, ...

:whut: cannot believe this post... shakes my head...

I too saw a post few days before http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=157&p=812036&hilit=IMHO#p812036

hmmmm. :please: :grphug: is more imp among KP's
Hi lilmom, i am an old bee in this forum and have follow thru the long dsa thread. As and when there comes pop up of mainstream parents commenting that dsa favour gep kids. But i think this thread has done a good job in educating parents what exactly have been going on with parents most willing to share more insight. Like you now cant believe of such comment anymore. You see and hear thru in this forum how some parents have mistaken gep 's advantage on the surface and there came a conman kelvin ong n aristocare saga sucking out their monies. Once again many thanks to chiefkiasu who created this forum. :salute:
As a mom who has a kid in GEP and another in mainstream, I see the advantages and disadvantages of both. DS1 is in RI and is a GEP student while DS2 is a mainstreamer who is applying through DSA this year. I missed the posting the earlier posting mentioned by Leeven but I believe that there are benefits in both GEP and mainstream - after all they are meant for children with different learning needs. No need to fight and argue over who has it worse.

The \"Whut\" and \"I do not believe this posting\" was a direct reaction to the Kiasucy's post \"So mainstream parents, dun complain about DSA anymore, if you do, ..... \". The \".... if you do...\" part may be interpreted by some as a threat or challenge.

I believe that KP is meant for all parents .. constructive comments are welcomed and we should all learn from each other.

Agree - we should all :grphug: and should not point out who does what or who is better or worse off than the other..

Yes, these are times of stress, but it is how we allow our self to react which will measure our ability to overcome it. If we can find something positive to learn in any situation, we will be able to control our state of well-being.

I think it works both ways.. there will always be a mainstream parents commenting about the GEP kids and likewise, there will always be the GEP parents lamenting how stressful it can be for a GEP kid versus a mainstreamer...

Education should go both ways. So be it if one says their DC is stressed because of this or that.. (i.e. too many topics to study for SS exam - for the geppers or going through 10 hours of exams and forgoing other interviews for the elusive one - for the mainstreamers) . We can understand and empathize ... for these are real stressful situations but there is no need to compare for whom is having it worse..

All it does is to create negative energy - exothermic to its fullest extent! We are all in this together.. best to make use of it - be pillars of support for each other and make the best out of the situation... so yes, I too agree, :grphug: and it should be for everyone - be it the geppers or the mainstreamers..

For NJC interview, may I know whether they interview a group of 3 students or individual student?

                Thank you .

Im not sure about today but last year my dds friend had an individual interview πŸ˜„

Oh I forgot to add, my dds friend was interviewed by a panel of 3... dont know whether this year will be the same but tell yr child not to worry, shes not alone πŸ˜„ treat that day as a new experience, she may find the day activity fun and that may help make her feel more comfortable during the interview πŸ˜„
