Phankao - I support VS way of doing. It gives a chance to those on WL - reduces the eagerness of waiting and not knowing what's next. If one is keen with the school, decide and take it. If not, decline and give the chance to others. 2 weeks of deciding period is more than enough. VS has set a wonderful process for this year.

I don't think VS is the first school to do this. There were a couple of other schools who asked for early confirmation as well in the past. Parents were invited to tea sessions or meetings and were asked to return the form to indicate if they would be confirming their place in the school. I think in one instance the school said if the kids didn't confirm taking the CO, the CO letter would not be given to the kid. In other words, we only give you a CO letter if you confirm you are coming to our school. If you can't confirm, we don't give you a CO. A lot of parents left angrily after that meeting.

hmm... interesting. No time is given for the parent/DC to consider. I supposed these parents are put on the spot and therefore not happy about it.

Oh yeah. and plus the fact they need to \"seal\" the envelopes before sending out.

I don’t think it works for NYGH. They really sound very sian and not that friendly unlike SCGS. I email to them once, but no reply. SCGS will still reply my email. So no choice, we just have to wait patiently for their reply.
