      Hi to all KSPs,

I am new here and have a noice question about DSA. My DD received a CO from MGS IP last friday. Does it mean as long as she qualifies for Express for PSLE (like 200 score), then she is confirmed a place?

Also, any opinion on the IP programme at MGS? Thanks

          BeContented:

          Rejected - HCI

          WL - NUSH
          CO - ACSI & RV
HCI was expected tho we did hope πŸ˜‰ But DS already surprised us cos we thot at most one WL. Thru this exercise, we also kinda gathered where his standard roughly is, so will not allow him to give up his CO & try via PSLE. One of the CO, here I come Kekeke. And DS also has his iPhone wish granted liao, as long as he can get any CO. πŸ˜„

          :congrats:

Which would be the first choice? NUSH / ACSI ?

BeContented said one of the CO here I come leh... think they will choose between RV & ACSI. Wondering if BC actually prefer ds to go to an SAP school?

so even if we hv the Cos and dont make the grade nearest to the sec schs COP then its as good as not being accepted, some yrs back i heard that if ur given a co, all u need is to sit for the psle n pass or just score 200 marks.

i know ppl who can make it thru sec 1 posting on their own but tried dsa just in case the child go blur during psle, some kids are really like that during normal exams missing a few pages. That does nt make the child academically weak but psle is all about results. So i guess anything can happen to the child if he is too stressed.[/quote]

Yeap people like me who tried DSA for DD with just in case kind of mentality and if receive CO then great, if not, just have to work hard for PSLE. DD didn’t do well during SA1 coz of flu and I ain’t gona take this risk in PSLE. Hence, it triggered me to apply for DSA for DD.

Hi, I'm new to ksp...need some advice from the expert parents. Between NUSH and SJI,which is a better choice to send my DS. Anyone can share the pros & cons for these 2 schools. Thanks.

NUSH has no major exams which is internationally recognised. Also some worry on the over emphasis on Maths and Science there, thus leading some to think that they are neglecting the Humanities and Languages.

SJI on the other hand would have a reknown broad base holistic education leading to the internationally recognised IB exams. They have an established track record with very strong alumni too.

              Thanks emoh!

                        Hi Alwaysworried,

I think it's good if you can take a look on the below from NUSHS website regarding their NUSHS Diploma.

This is taken from their school website.
                        http://www.highsch.nus.edu.sg/content.p ... b525ffdc56

                        1. What is the graduation qualification when a student graduates from NUS High School and is it recognized by universities worldwide?
The NUS High School Diploma will be the school's graduation qualification. Currently, the Diploma is recognised as an admissible qualification by National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Warwick, King’s College London, University College London, Yale University, Stanford University, Massachusett Institute of Technology, Cornell University , Dordt College, Lewis-Clark State College, Sweet Briar College, Virginia Military Institute, Washington University St Louis, Wilson College, Edith Cowan University, La Trobe University, Murdoch University, University at Buffalo (State University of New York), University of Georgia, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, University of Maryland. The list will continue as we seek recognition from the top-tier universities in the Australia.
