Got other jobs or not? Me never think of my kids as lawyers/doctors & my kids also not planning to be one. :skeptical:

Artist? The Art programme there is good. You should take a look at the exhibition by the arts students. Very impressive.

      How about Business Man?

There was a saying \"If you want to rule Singapore go to RI, if you want to own Singapore go to ACS\"[/quote]Good Dad, my DS wants to be Business Man, but he doesn't have CO from ACSI. HCI can??

Most businessmen don’t have any history of doing extremely well in studies…if one does too well in studies, he/she will get a comfortable salary which will become an obstacle to venture out.

I heard that the student who got dsa(MEP) still needs to get 250++, is it true?

it is as good as no CO

what school is that, if it is real ?

It depends. Some schools offer co with conditions, some no

BeContented, your DS & my DS can be friend. :hugs:
cos my DS also don't want to be lawyers/doctors !!! He said that if he becomes a doctor, he'll be the first to close the clinic when there's H1N1. :rotflmao:
That's why he's wondering if he should go to RI. :scratchhead:

Think DS is not that kind of standard or calibre to be a doc or lawyer......
But seriously I also dunno what DS can be and DS also does not have clear idea yet.
            Artist/Lawyers/Docs ...... any other career?

Unless one has good design flair and really like designing, if not, I won’t want my kids to be architect. Building industry in sg is tough with all the building regulations and clients want good want cheap, architects work long hours too. And architect not only design, they need to manage project too.

                Jmho.

                  jedamum,

                  Good morning!

                  yukilei,
                  U’ve got Terry!

                  Back to topic,
For me, i’ll let the children decide what they want to pursue. But of course, we need to let them know what are the options, the career path available.

Design doesn’t means u end up be an architect, u can be a product or display designer, graphics designer etc, right? I’m not in this field so cannot say much.

                    Hi jedamum,
                    thanks for the sharing. 🙂
Appreciate it. Will be good if more can share abt their profession here.
Ds also does not know what he wants to do when he grows up.
I do not have much advice for him either.

I think at this age, most kids would still be quite fickle as to what they want to be, and very much influenced by friends. My dd1 has run the whole gamut from wanting to be a tai-tai to being a doctor, while dd2 wavers between a fashion designer and chef 😄 .

I think whatever their dream career, it's important not to be disparaging. I try to be encouraging (well, except for the tai-tai \"job\") and tell them, study hard so that you have a better chance at realizing your dream, whatever it may be.
