papertree:
RI has selection camp for mainstream pupils who passed GAT test in July, please check with the school.
Oh i see. The dates I've quoted is for GEP students. In this case, maybe no selection test for GEP students. My DS is also planning to apply for RI & NUSH. So I thought may clash. If so, then will tell him to just apply one of them. Thks for the clarification. -

- A PSLE T-Score of 250 and above*; and/or
- Outstanding academic performance in your Secondary 1-2 school examinations; and/or
- Excellent achievement in academic and co-curricular activities.
* Students who fail to meet this criterion but have performed extremely well at lower secondary school examinations may be short-listed.
In addition, students may be required to:
- Sit for a General Ability Test and Entrance Examinations (English Language, Mathematics and Science); and
- Be interviewed by a panel of interviewers.

Does anyone know how strict is RI with the 80% decision of whether a GE kid needs to take GAT or not?
I mean if the overall score is 79.x%, is there a chance that RI might waive the GAT?

For English, are the questions from literature or the other topics such as grammer, vocab etc.?
For Science are the questions are sec 1 and 2 topics ? as different schools have different topics.
For maths is it Algebra or other math related topics?
If anyone entered through Year 3 DSA for RI plz advice how my son could prepare for it!
Thanks in advance!!!! :?: :?: :?: :?: -

* from past posts I see <80% no chance regardless of certs you have . but any body have got CO in RI who has <80%. I dont want to be in WL and take risk unless I dont have any CO for other schools.
daddy_psp . we are in same boat I think but I dont exact 79.xx (waiting for report card). We asked the admin team during open house. Even if it 79.9 still have to sit for GAT.
