GoodDad:
Any parents or students can share the experience of the open house that you have attended?

How do you rate ACSI, HCI and RI for their Open House 2012?
Went HCI & ACS, no intention for RI.
Due to time constraint, was there for only 1 hour each

HCI environment is nice & cozy, the students seem rather serious & guai guai type. Din manage to attend the eng talk, was late & full - attended the chinese instead. Overall feel very cultural, Chinese - I like it.

ACS - as they are generally known, vocal, more kantang (English) & lively. When I looked lost, the students would approach & offer assistance. The principal talk was lively too & stressed on the community/family spirit. Apparently, he's new - just 11mths into the role. Feel was good too.

but being more 'helicopter' myself, I will gear towards HCI. But yet I think ACS will be good as DS should learn to be less reserved & express more. But being with all the richie rich, peer pressure may be tough. Anyway both are good, whatever comes (if we do get an offer), DS should be in good hands with either Sch. :please:

Hi... My DS dsa-ed into HCI in 2011. When I went to the open house last year, I did have the same feeling that HCI is cooler and more ventilated as compared to RI... My DD was breathless upon arriving... Just my humble opinion.... :boogie:

Your dd went to RI Open House too? I thought NUSH was very hot. Probably has to do with their being surrounded by HDB flats, restricting the ventilation.

Probably, have to feel the 'click' before applying for dsa... Don't give your kids undue pressure. Remember you are not allow to transfer after you have materialised your CO.
I find RI very hot too but hub thinks otherwise. He find HCI hot, RI cooler. :?

obviously RI is very hot, year after year !

meant to say bishan area is like so close to the sun, very hot. heard there used to be popular book shop but it is gone. Where is the new bookshop?
I don't think VK2010's remark on \"hot\" is referring to the heat in the environment. It's should be RI being the \"hot\" choice for students & parents lah. :rotflmao: 😉
Correct me if I misinterpret, VS2010.

In my humble opinion, this year, the top 4s will give out many WL, simply because of non transferring rule. But I am wondering whether it will make real difference when comes to Supplementary in-taking phase after S1 posting?

                        Hi

I'm asking on behalf of a friend who is currently overseas. Her son is interested to DSA. A little background, they been away since the boy was a toddler. Currently in a gifted programme in their school. The boy has insufficient exposure to the malay language and has an exemption for PSLE. He is interested to try for RI and considering other school. Is it possible to attend HI ?(He's of mixed parentage and his parents likes the culture of the school) What other IP schools offer Malay? Any GEP students taking malay can offer insight to which IP schools? However, is interested to pursue MT in upper levels. Thank you 😄
