Probably, have to feel the 'click' before applying for dsa... Don't give your kids undue pressure. Remember you are not allow to transfer after you have materialised your CO.
Why are you quoting me in your reply? Your reply has nothing to do with my post. :?
Your dd went to RI Open House too? I thought NUSH was very hot. Probably has to do with their being surrounded by HDB flats, restricting the ventilation.jtoh:

Hi... My DS dsa-ed into HCI in 2011. When I went to the open house last year, I did have the same feeling that HCI is cooler and more ventilated as compared to RI... My DD was breathless upon arriving... Just my humble opinion.... :boogie: -
Kiasucy:
meant to say bishan area is like so close to the sun, very hot. heard there used to be popular book shop but it is gone. Where is the new bookshop?
I don't think VK2010's remark on \"hot\" is referring to the heat in the environment. It's should be RI being the \"hot\" choice for students & parents lah. :rotflmao:verykiasu2010:
I find RI very hot too but hub thinks otherwise. He find HCI hot, RI cooler. :?
obviously RI is very hot, year after year !
Correct me if I misinterpret, VS2010. -
In my humble opinion, this year, the top 4s will give out many WL, simply because of non transferring rule. But I am wondering whether it will make real difference when comes to Supplementary in-taking phase after S1 posting?

Hi
I'm asking on behalf of a friend who is currently overseas. Her son is interested to DSA. A little background, they been away since the boy was a toddler. Currently in a gifted programme in their school. The boy has insufficient exposure to the malay language and has an exemption for PSLE. He is interested to try for RI and considering other school. Is it possible to attend HI ?(He's of mixed parentage and his parents likes the culture of the school) What other IP schools offer Malay? Any GEP students taking malay can offer insight to which IP schools? However, is interested to pursue MT in upper levels. Thank you

Herbie:
I heard that the girls did quite well this year.
Wonder how many percent of your dd's class score above 80% ?
and some are way > 80% .Kiasucy:
But geppers who score is more than 80% has to go thru another hurdle which is the intervirw.
I heard that there are kids who did not do well during the interview and hence did not get co/wl from the dsa sch. -
Someone mentioned that there are about 180 Geppers in RI for each cohort, (sorry forgot who said this and too lazy to go back to check :salute: ), how about the 300 odd others? Does anyone know the percentage of the various schools (HCI, NYGH, RGS, ACSI,etc.) these students go to? TIA

RI - normally 15 classes made up of 30x15=450; of which 7 classes contain about 180 GEPpers plus 30 mainstreamers; the other 8 classes are mainstreamers
HCI - iSpark has about 80 - 90 GEPpers, plus some mainstreamers
RGS - not sure how many classes
NYGH - some one recently posted they have 1 class only ?
some are found in other IP schools
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal -
