Hi Parents, Kiasucy, Yukilei

      1. Do I put the RI Covering letter & Application form (punchhole)
and put in to the folder .
      2. My Son prepared a outer cover for the file itself . Do I paste it.

      :imdrowning:

Leeven, is item 2 required? :scared: We only have item 1 per their instruction. Submitted with payment to their general office. They checked and arrange them their way, clip them and acknowledge on the spot.

Same as Kiasucy, I've only submitted item 1, with clip on it. No punchhole, no file.
I read in earlier forum messages on the portfolio preparation for DSA and submitting .I did see a sample too. is it different.

so in what order you keep the certs. I thought using divider between acadamic related and CCA & ECA related :?
RIWMC for RI and SMOPS/APMOS for HCI

What should be the score to get a chance for an interview?

Friendship, offcourse having RI Distinction and SMOPS/APMOS Platinum ,and yes GOLD is good but General Ability test is equally important (for RI >80% for GEP kids u dont need to worry about interview atall ๐Ÿ˜„ ) + any other expectional skills.

Parents correct me If I am wrong.

Should not take it for granted or speculate that way as in previous years there have always been >80% not getting CO.
I agree no solid proof ya. I need to also add interview is very important as well. so marks+GAT+Interview+other achievemments all add points

which school you are talking about. any way go to the school website for details of GAT . each school has its own procedure and details and dates it is conducted. If you have gone to open house , they should hve given the details.

The GEP CA1+SA1 for English comes along with a big portion on porfolio assessment that include presentation in class, write-up, .. so if they have done well together with the SA pen and paper, should just let them go, why still want to torture the poor kids who are just 12 yo with the interview and teething questions? Let them have more fun in their childhood k ...

Am I missing something. I have read so many posts in this forum talking about portoflio->filing-> even remember one parent concern of DHS removing the papers from the file that was taken and stapled and put in a box .

There are more students than vacancies so naturally the school wants to choose the best. Students can always opt to forego DSA altogether and gain admission via PSLE results. No need for tests and interviews.

But the GE kids are not focusing as much on the mainstream syllabus since P4 ... That is no wonder why some choose not to join GEP when offered or opted out of the screening tests.

:grphug: agree. last week it was miserable for me. DS got <80% and all his classmates have told him they all go to RI and he cannot (sigh i dont know why kids talk all these) get RI/NUSH/ACS(I) because he is low in acadamic. DS was so demotivated. His interest is NUSH and parents interest is ACS(I) . but kiasu so applying RI too ๐Ÿ˜„

Went RI to submit the document yday. Staff check thru & asked whether I'll be overseas in May & June as RI might call us.

Did the staff say this to any of you? Thought they'll contact us thru email?

You will also get postal mail notification.

Thanks UncleLim for the info. Will have to stick on my neck to my mail box from now onwards. ๐Ÿ˜‰
