We're leaning towards Cedar as well! Are you from Cedar?
YEAP
And proudly so...
Hehehehe
Any comments on MGS from anyone? We would like to have a good comparision between the 2 schools. Thanks.
Apologies..I meant I was from Cedar. Fast fingers.
MGS is good school too. I have some nice frens from MGS.... but... are you not considering distance? Are you nearer Cedar or MGS (distance-wise) ? These 2 schools are in separate zone.
If nearer Cedar , then choose Cedar. If MGS nearer, then choose MGS.
Distance is key. It is not just about going to school. How about the need to commute for CCA , extra classes etc etc ? -

Raffles Girls - Go For it.My dd wants to try for RGS (260).
I am worried of
1). Snobbish students who will do anything to get ahead
2). That being amongst the lowest range of psle scores to get in, she may not be able to cope.
Any advice? Am I just being paranoid?
Snobbish people are everywhere. Not just in RGS. To get ahead of others is just part & parcel of a healthy competition.
Think of it this way - if in future, your daughter is offered a good role in a certain institution (let's just say a bank) & you wouldn't want her rejecting that role (and that fatty pay cheque) just because that bank is \"rumoured to be very political\", yeah ? You would prefer that she give it a shot & if she doesn't like it, she can always jump ship after accumulating enough experience(s) in that bank. Afterall, life is all about experiences
Nothing ventured nothing gain. Cliche but true.
Not true that if you enter a certain school with the \"lowest range T-score\" means you will forever be struggling at the bottom of the school.
I have friends whose PSLE scores were worse than mine (back in Cedar) but they had sterling O-level results as compared to mine

DS's friends are all persuading him to go there .... they all got some points above the COP of last year, and DS score is quite a number of points above the median....so is likely to put in the form......sigh ! still undecided lah ...... -

Hi,
For students who are offered a 3rd language option - Are any of your dd/ds taking up? If yes, what language are they interested in? Iβm just wondering if students are given the option to drop it if they cannot cope? -
