      Carrie:
...Then can i know what are the class is good in teaching Math for K1 child?...

I'm doing the teaching myself nowadays 🙂 I sent my son for Kumon starting P3, but I think he has already outgrown the programme and it is no longer useful. For pre-schoolers, lots of parents swear by CMA which teaches math based on abacus. See this http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1352.

...Starting to learn Math during K2 is late by today's standards. I'm currently working on Primary One Math preparation Part 2 which includes a \"progress table\" that parents can use as general rules-of-thumb. Hopefully you will find it useful. Stay tuned 😄

Then can i know what are the class is good in teaching Math for K1 child?

            Thanks..

OK. Completed Part 2. See http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/primary-one-preparation-mathematics-part-2.

                Hi, I’m Buds.

Nice to know you are a pro-active parent.
Just to share, my kiddies i introduced to them
Math @ 4yrs. Which is the most appropriate time
as its already an age where kids can comprehend.

I used fingers and beads too… initially.
Learning from concrete leads to abstract.
Means, we use ‘real’ materials to introduce concepts,
teach methodologies and then convert them to mental
counting. Do not give up, it will work eventually…

Use materials that child likes to count other than beads.
It will help develop interest. Child will not realise he
is actually learning thru all that playing…

                Cheers.
