how many vacancies to number of applicants?

Balloting was done for more than 2km. I'm not involved but want to find out.

total vacancy = 210

for phase 2c:
vacancy = 127
applicants = 132

No worries, a letter will be sent to home address with the orientation date.
It's actually another copy of the same registration form that was filled out, but with the bottom part signed by principal and some info added in.

yes, i'm more than 2km away. but can't afford to risk balloting

my understanding it's that there's not much residental within 2km. majority comes from phase 1 & church, hence great chance of getting into the school. the last round i ask has 50% for those living less than 2km for phase 2c alone.

moreover, there's in house student care , hence u just need to worry abt the transport (school bus or car although there's a long staircase which leads to plaza singapura)

out of the 132 people who applied, say 50% live less than 2km?

Yes, I'm >2km. When is your child's registration? If time permit, you can actually do PV (not sure whether St Marg accept PV ornot) in order tol know better about school culture. I'm a lazy mum so didn't do PV at any school

Because of the location and not many houses around so usually there is vacancy for >2km base on history statistics.


Thanks for the information abt the orientation, I've received the return COPY application form with indication of the orientation day on Friday.

yes, that’s a estimated figure given by the office. think it’s due to the location

ballot will only occur if the applicant no. exceed the vacancy no.
priority will goes to those <1km. if there’s not enough places, ballot will occur at this stage. if there’s enough, all the <1km will get a place.

the remaining places will be given to those 1-2km. same here, if enough places, all will get in. if not, ballot will occur at this stage.

for st marg, those <2km adds up to abt 66, so there’s ballot for those >2km, which 5 will be balloted out.

another scenario : for radin mas, there’s 128 applicants fighting for 65 places. there’s abt 80 less than 1km, hence balloting occurs for those less than 1km. so abt 15 will be balloted out. those >1km doesn’t even stand chance.

Correction. There were 94 applicants within 1 km, including two pairs of twins. vying for 65 places in Radin Mas.
