DadOfGirl:
wonder is the discipline master/mistress is still as strict as during my time
All in all , great infrasturucture with good teachings... very disciplined school... You cannot be late & there are demerit points for breaking rules.
besides cannot be late, others like
hair length/ hair accessories, skirt length, no folding up of sleeves, socks etc -
rather surprise to see comparisons being made between Crescent girls and Nan hua high,
the usual dilemma that parents face is whether to choose Crescent girls’ or Cedar girls’
as these 2 schools, more or less are of similar cat. ( b4 Cedar girls’ being announced as the newly listed IP school) -
Hi DadOfGirl,

Going to Sec2. If you are parent waiting for PSLE result this year, you may want to note that COP is llikely to go up this year as last year was a drop across the board.
School has e-learning program... Tablet PC program is in place @ SGD 2200/- one time spending. I guess what such program does is, it gives opportunity to hard working students to download assignments & keep working on it at your pace & master it.
Someone in this thread has said , you enter school 'Not so good' & come out with L1R5 of 10 & below. It has only express stream & no IP program, there by no distrction. It just focusses on 8 classes in each level.
English & litrature dept is quite good... just to dispel thought that such school could be mainly Maths/Science school..
Sugget you go for Open house..(Hope it is not conducted already ..) -
Thanks!

Eek I hate the uniform. Girls sch tend to be very chio n cheena. It is not even a SAP school. I stay in the North n will be attending Nan Hua High next yr. To me SAP sch is top priority. The only girls sch less chio are RGS n NYHS. The rest, especially PLMGSS are chio ones.

My DD is going to Crescent next year. We chose Crescent due to it’s strong track record (Band 1 in O-levels from 2006 to 2010). Nan Hua is also good, but as mentioned by someone else in this forum, it’s track record (2009-2010: Band 1, 2008: Band 3, 2007: Band 2, 2006: Band 4) is not as good as Crescent’s.
