Hi Dream High,

I went to the school today as missed it’s Open Hse.I must say I impressed with it’s spacious campus.Updated facilities like Eco Garden,Indoor Sports Hall.It seems that school has a fresh coat of paint.
Managed to talk to afew pupils(in sch for ECA).Hv very gd feedbacks from them.They seem to be happy in this sch.Portray a very confident image during our conversation.
This sch has won a lot of MOE Awards(check out MOE web site).

Oh,also it’s the Future School slated by MOE.Students there use Tablet PC during lessons all the time in class including projects n h/wk.All students hv to purchase the PC.

Teachers are strict with it’s discipline too.

I am a student in Crescent Girls', and I hope you wouldn't mind if I answer your question(s).

@KiasuGrandMaster:
(a) At the end of Secondary Two, all students will be streamed into their respective classes. All Secondary Three and Four classes consist of Pure Sciences, Crescent does not offer Combined Science. On most occasions, there will be a total of 9 classes (all of which are Pure Sciences).

(b)(i) Crescent offers many leadership roles and opportunities, it is up to your daughter on whether she is courageous enough to take it. There is a leadership camp held for all Secondary Ones every year and through this, the seniors will access the juniors based on their leadership skills and so on. Secondary Ones can either opt to be a Student Councillor (similar to Prefect in Primary School) or a House Leader. There are other leadership roles offered, of course, these are just the main two.
On the scale of effectiveness, I think it really depends on the individual.

(b)(ii) On every Tuesday/Thursday of the week during Morning Assembly, Crescentians will be presented with PowerPoint slides about leadership, sincerity and etc. Quite effective, if you'd ask me.

@DreamHigh: Academically, the school's standard has improved drastically over the years. When one reaches Upper Secondary, the teachers begin to \"spoon-feed\" the students, which is ultimately a good thing.
Crescent has a very high discipline standard. For every level, there are Discipline Headmasters and Headmistresses. The discipline system is terrifying and it is at its worst when one is in her first year in Crescent. There are spot-checks every week and they only exclude them when exams (happened for SA2) are nearing, that is when students are allowed early release back to their classrooms from Morning Assembly to study.
