Q2 Why is there a need for the cod and the common tree frog to lay so many eggs?

A2. They need to do this is because many of the fries are eaten by predators and as such many eggs help to assure that the generation will survive.

E.g like the boardscast spawners, the females lay lots of unfertilised eggs in the breeding ground and the males swim to discharge their semen into the water over the eggs.

Laughingcat is probably right. I think this is more like a upper block science topic on adaptation.

              My cheeky boy's reply...... :rotflmao:

A1. Too many eggs freak out the parents because too tired to look after. Too many eggs will lead to sibiling rivary and hence cause parents to have headaches. 😆

Mummy's analysis......pls correct me if i am wrong eh.....

A1. Eggs that are bigger take a longer time to develop and hence requires parental care.
