            How to answer :?: :?:

Answer for this Q, Why do the world's largest animals live in water?

you can find the answer in Just education creative series P3/4 book 1 page17.

go to popular and have a look.

No offence plum-cake. My answer is still the same. Throw the book into the dust bin.

I don't know what are the answers in that book, but I came across answers like : Water helps to support the weight of the huge body, big space allows the big animal to survive because 70% of earth is covered by water, abundance of food, huge body of mammal generates heat and water helps to cool down .... All these are hypotheses. They have not been proven as no detailed study has been done. Therefore, we cannot bluff our kids and tell them things that have yet to be proven as fact.

The question as printed in that book is \"Why do the world largest animal live in water?
The word \"do\" implies that the answer is \"definitive\" i.e. confirmed. However, no one has actually confirmed any of those conclusions.

There would be no problem if the question had been phrased as \"What could be a possible reason for the world largest animal to live in water?\"

Science question cannot be tackled like comprehension. All questions must be phrased appropriately. If the answers are not definitive, then we must add words \" a possible reason/explanation...\"

Sorry again, as it sounds like my above comments were directed at you. No, no it is at the book. There are too many such books in the market where the writer doesn't even have slightest idea what \"scientific method\" is all about.

These questions came from one of the Primary School, just helping my friend to solve the answer.

                      Found from the internet:

Land animals have to support their own weight, whereas sea creatures get some help from the water.

Most people believe that the largest animals to ever exist on Earth were the dinosaurs. However, one of the largest land dinosaurs, the sauropod Argentinosaurus, weighed only about 180,000 pounds (81,647 kg). That's little more than half the size of an adult blue whale.

                      🤷

may i add that this is a consequence of natural selection and evolution
