What's the difference or effect you get when using multi purpose flour vs cake flour to bake a cake?

When you use multi purpose flour, you could get more chewy structure than the cake using cake flour

Thanks. So in this case, wouldn't it be better to use a cake flour for cakes, since cakes aren't supposed to be chewy?[/quote]Yes. Cake flour is lighter.

            My choc chip bread :

            http://postimage.org/image/2dtebe6ro/

Smooth crust, moist and nice flavor choc bread. Too much choc chips I guessed but the kids love it. Won't last till b'fast

Had to buy the bread knife soon..... πŸ˜„

It's better to use bake stable choc chip. The choc stick on the knife and make the cutting very messy.

                      peterch,

Thanks for the tip earlier about replacing 1 part of water with fresh milk.

Didn't dare try it though and went out to get powdered milk. Perhaps when I am a bit more seasoned πŸ˜‰

BTW, your choco bread looks out of this world :celebrate: :celebrate:
