ChiefKiasu:
:peekaboo: Your Honour, this humble maid here would like to submit her humble loaf as evidence to the Court for consideration. It may not look like what you used to have when you were a kid, but at least the swirls are there
Deadline is whoever is first to submit evidence for the court lor... where got deadline? You all competiting against each other mah.
and it definitely tastes like bread and not some colourful cake.
And no, it was not made with the expensive Z toy!
My fellow Bread Kakis here can testify that the loaf indeed came from the maid's kitchen and not from some kaya store downstairs, but then again, which kaya store is still open at such an un-Godly hour? :? The blue glass chopping board is a distinguished trademark of bakes from the maid's kitchen!
The maid was supposed to have been in dreamland as there’s a long day ahead for her tomorrow, emm, I mean later today, being CNY Eve, but when she ‘heard’ that there’s an offer of 488KPs to be awarded, she went on a baking overdrive and produced the following loaf using her broken down B machine to knead and to proof and baked it in her humble oven. Hope it is acceptable to your Honour. :please:
Being so late at night, or rather so early in the morning, there was no way that she could step out of her house to get the natural ingredients which her fellow Bread Kakis were talking about, so she used the tried and tested colouring she has at home. Hope it’s acceptable for your Honour’s consideration.
She figured that as long as the bread is edible, adding a bit of colouring once in a while will not cause any adverse harmful effects, so here’s her colourful swirl loaf for which she hopes to earn 488KPs to buy groceries to celebrate the CNY.
:please: :please:
Wishing one and all a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy Year of the Rabbit.
PS : I won’t be able to log in today as I will be at my mum’s house the whole of today, decorating the place like I usually do. There is no internet access there. Will check this thread again after the celebrations.

For those who are interested, here’s what I did to achieve the swirl effect :
1) Set the machine to knead, proof as you would for your white loaf. I used “Sweet”, followed by “Dough” functions.
2) Once proofing is done, divide the dough into 3 portions.
3) Add one drop of colouring to each portion – red, green, yellow.
4) Knead the portioned dough until the colouring is even and you get 3 coloured balls.
5) Roll out the red ball into a 1cm thick rectangle and do the same for the green and the yellow dough.
6) Put the green rectangle on top of the red and the yellow on top of the green. You can change the sequence of the colours if you want to.
7) Roll up the 3 layers of dough as you would for a Swiss Roll.
8 ) Let it proof for another 20 to 30 mins.
9) Meanwhile, grease your Pullman Pan or Loaf Pan.
10) Bake at 175 to 180 for about 20 to 30 mins.
Hope the above explantion is clear. Didn’t take step by step pictures as I was too tired. Give a shout if you need help. :celebrate: -

You know what, I had this gut feel that you would be baking it today, but who would have expected you made it immediately!! No wonder I was wondering why you went so quiet all of a sudden.

Haha, truth be told. I was already thinking of baking one after the CNY when Chief brought it up last night, but when 488 KPs came into the picture, I decided that it was too risky to wait till after CNY to attempt it.
Yes, I went all quiet suddenly because I switched to lurker mode, was lurking, reading, instead of posting  and I almost fell of the chair laughing when I read the chat between you and autumnbronze. Yes, I almost wanted to :heresmyfish: the two of you! You were definitely talking about me, right?
Okay, have to go. Talk to you next year! :imanisland: -
