      25hourmaid:
What happens when you have a bored Maid at home and too many Mandarin Oranges to get rid of? :?

Mandarin Orange Jam of course!

Don’t know where to post this and I am not going to start a thread just to post a picture of my jam so decided to post it here since bread and jam go together, right? And I am not exactly wrong either, since most breadmachines come with a jam function. 😎

As some of you know, the baking element of my breadmachine is spoilt, so I used the porridge function of my rice cooker at first, but because the quantity was so small, the jam did not cook properly and there were still lots of juice left even after the porridge function was completed, so I transferred the jam to a small pot and cooked it over slow fire like I would for pineapple jam.

This is the amount of jam from the pulp of about 15 Mandarin Oranges. I pureed it first because we prefer smooth jam to pulpy jam. Pure Mandarin goodness, no preservatives, only pureed Mandarins and sugar. :celebrate:

The bread is not homemade, but store bought, no time to bake one.

Wow! that's fantastic, maid. 15 oranges for the jam. Pure goodness.

Finally I knew the problem with my pandan bread. It's because of the egg. To much egg for that much of flour.:?

        Milk bread is OK πŸ˜„

I'll be off making bread as tomorrow I'm flying out. Back in 3 weeks and will post a better pandan bread then πŸ˜„

        Keep baking and posting................ :celebrate:
You sure are a BSI, peterch! (BSI=bread scene investigator)

Haha, that idea will have to be taken up by someone else! :dowan: I may like orange jam, but I hate all bakes with a tinge of orange in them, orange cakes, orange cookies .... they are all not my cup of tea :!:

Hey TBQ, I absolutely and totally agree with everyone that you are the most AWESOME bread making queen in KSP. We can leave the KIng title to our pro Peter.

As for the 288 ksp I doubt I know how to swirl a colorful loaf, at best I will produce a mixed-up bread since I bake in the bread maker.
Aiyo, how many titles do you want to give me in this thread alone?

Me no Shi Fu and no TBQ either! πŸ˜›

The pro here is still peterch! :celebrate:

Haha, good idea  A mixed-up bread! Maybe that might win you 288KPs? :?

                :thankyou: jtoh.

Even though it was only 15 oranges, it was pure hard work as I had to remove the pulp from the membrane before I could puree it.

Maid, you're amazing! Creative and practical at the same time. Talk about a fabulous brekkie tomorrow.

I just love feasting my eyes on the food you create. Uh, uh, am getting fat on that too!

Okie I take yr advice on the z and will trundle it out, soon. πŸ™‚
Time to take out the old Z and give it a shot. But truth be told, kinda glad that my old Z broke down  so that I can get the new cute cute mini Z. 😎 The newer model is so much more user friendly and easier to wash up after. πŸ˜‰

:thankyou: schweppes! Haha, I am more of a baker than a cook. My elder boy was just lamenting over CNY that he wished he had a mummy who can cook as well as his Ah Kim (my SIL)! πŸ˜›

I told him to go and be Ah Kim's son lor! πŸ˜›
