25hourmaid:
:thankyou: You should try your hands at making buns one day!

I want to.
Just haven't gotten down to it yet.

Happy Mama:
Your oven sounds complicated. Top, bottom, fan... Mine I just select the temperature, grill etc and voila! Done!
because i don't know how to use an oven...
I don't know when to switch on the upper or lower or both and when to switch on the fan... if i switch on the top and not the bottom heater, then the top get burnt and bottom not baked. but if i on both, the i feel that the orange colour of the coil becomes switched off... -

Ok! I just learn from the sifu then.

Yeah, you are better off learning from ShiFus like ksi, peterch and now the latest, sYEO instead of joining that forum which I won't even encourage at all! :celebrate: -

Put your loaves aside for a while and try buns for once. You will get addicted.
In fact, I am more into buns than loaves.

Yup, it's a cheap oven but I don't know why it's so complicated. All I need is an oven that requires me to set temp and press bake.

Maid the buns are yummy... do you know how to cook sweet bun which have sugar on top?
:thankyou: they were really yummy.
:? Sorry, don't quite get what you mean about having sugar on top. :?
On second thoughts, do you mean those buns coated with sugar on top?
Have not tried those, but I would use the same method as I would for pork floss. Spread mayo on top of the bun and then sprinkle with sugar. You would be surprised that the mayo would turn into a 'transparent' glue on hot buns. That's how I coat my pork floss buns like those sold in Bread Talk.

But if I open a bakery, no one will buy from me judging by the number of breadmachines that have been sold since this thread started!Yes I am talking about those sugar coated buns.. my kids love it... ok must try that...

Must remember to coat it the moment the bun is out from the oven, otherwise the mayo and sugar won't stick.25hourmaid:
